Weekend Outlook

Hi

Finally, some weather we can deal with! After several weeks of wind and rain, it looks like we've finally caught a break - Take advantage of it while it lasts! Water levels are up significantly, so anyone with docks and boat lifts should plan on getting some "water time" in this weekend.
The bite is good - we're in a period now where there are SOME fish scattered on nearly every legitimate piece of structure out there. There's some on the mud flats, the deep gravel, the deep rock, shallow rock and even in the emerging weeds. The most consistent approach to date has been slip bobbers/leeches. We've also seen some nice fish taken on crawlers and floating snells in the deeper water. There's a wide mix of sizes on these Mille Lacs fish right now... anywhere from 10 inches to 30+, so be sure to measure carefully. Some of the better starting spots this week include Blue Jug Flat, Lakeside Reef, Big Point, Sloppy Joe's and Otto's Reef. For anyone looking to chase bass this weekend, don't count on sight fishing... with all the rain and run-off the water is pretty stained.

The surface temperature is still hovering around 64 degrees.

The night ban is over! Remember, navigation lights are required from sunset to sunrise. (Remember to keep your white stern (back) light on while still fishing or at anchor. This light must be visible for 360 degrees around the boat and may not be blocked from view (see sunrise/sunset schedule at end of regulation booklet, pg. 96). Sunset Friday is 9:02.

The weather for the weekend looks like this:
Friday: Mostly sunny. Highs around 80. Southeast winds 10 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear. Lows around 55. Southeast winds 10 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. Highs 80 to 85. South winds 10 to 20 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear. Lows around 60. South winds 10 to 20 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny. Highs 80 to 85.

The full moon is 6-21-2005.

Don't forget to check out our weekly "Shop Special" before your visit!

Finally...
I felt compelled to waste this week's joke on Michael Jackson, but most of the tales didn't "fit" our format (go figure). I did run into this one, however:
How does Michael Jackson pick his nose? Out of a catalog!

Have a great weekend and Happy Father's Day,
