We just got back from six days fishing Lake Oahe, out of Mobridge, SD. We had a great time, stayed at the Bay Cabins and were treated great. The fishing was not as good as we had hoped. There were a couple days when the wind just finally blew us off of the water. We would have continued to have fought the wind, but the fishing was very slow. But, on most days we caught several walleyes, the occasional channel cat, white bass, drum, one northern, and one monster carp! That lake is full of huge carp! We fished mostly in the Mobridge area, in 17 to 25 feet of water, off from the old railroad grade, and the hump just south of Mobridge, kinda across from what used to be the Moose Flats before the water left. We had more success with bottom bouncers and a plain hook and nightcrawler, though we did catch some walleyes on leeches. All in all, it was a good time, but the fishing can get very slow.

Guys - I've posted this before...Mobridge is too far north to find the walleyes in any number this time of year. Go to Bush's Landing. Just got back from there, fished Thursday thru Sunday. Thursday was slow, too hot and calm. We limited on Friday and Saturday which were both cooler and a bit more overcast. Sunday was good until 10:30, then the lake turned perfectly calm and we didn't catch a walleye after that. Plain hook and crawler or hook/bead with crawler worked best. We caught all of our fish at Bull. They were starting to catch some south of the ramp, too. We caught a 21" and two 20's, the average slots were 17". The fish are in great shape. Good luck!
