Was in North Central Wisconsin last week. Fished a variety of areas from Stevens Point to Florence with stops in Vilas and Lincoln counties. Weather was mostly rugged, fishing was still pretty darn good. Better in some areas, but still, we usually found fish willing to bite.

Fished mostly for walleyes and smallmouth. Fire-Ball Jigs with minnows and leeches were best, but took good numbers of smallmouth on 4" Power Grubs also.

This area of Wisconsin still has a true northwoods feel. We saw groups of eagles, lots of deer, turkeys, etc. While driving down one of the county roads we came upon a family of bobcats. You don't see them very often. One of the kittens or cubs or whatever you call a baby bobcat sat right in the middle of the road, giving us a good look.

This region is very unique and one of the last areas with a true fishing/hunting/outdoors feel.
