OK, we recently moved to the area and i'm sort of familiar with the lake, but not really. I'd like to know who's familiar with the lake and how you're successful on Clear Lake. Also, where's a good place to picnic with the family shore fish with my 5 year old? She does really well if the bobbers are poppin'. also, is there a good QUIET campground nearby? What are some of the louder ones or other areas to avoid? Thanks for your help, we've had a lot of fun just learning the lake and exploring the area all summer!

See you on the water!

The walleye bite has been fair at best. Crankbaits are your best bet. Numbers have been tough to come by but the ones that I have been catching are nice sized fish (20-23in.). I believe fishing will really pick up after Labor Day when the crowds diminish.

If you are looking to just catch fish, catfish have been biting well on chicken livers. From shore try the Farmer's Beach parking lot area or the "state dock" access on north shore. Fish the side of the lake where the wind is blowing into.

Hope this helps you. Let us know how you do!
