In no certain order and not all lakes, Green Bay around Oconto, Rainbow Flowage and some of the other flowages around Tomahawk, Minocqua and Rhinelander, Wisconsin River around the Wisconsin Dells, Lake Pepin.

Green Bay is really good for big walleyes, was just out there a couple of weeks ago and they were all in the 24-30 inch range.

Bob - what is the primary tactic on Green Bay? Lots of open water trolling, jigs, shoreline reefs or what?

There is a river that comes into Green Bay a little north of Oconto that provides spring and fall action in close. There is also a close-in bay bite in the spring and fall. In the summer the bigger walleyes are off-shore, sometimes several miles.

Spinners with the biggest Rainbow holographic blades are best in the summer, trolling the reefs in the 20-30 foot range. On our last trip there we put three Off-Shore boards out on each side of the boat, so the spread was pretty wide. Our walleyes were all between 23 and almost 30 inches. No small ones, I would bet they are closer to shore. Also took several catfish in the 15-almost 20 pound range.

I have been in this area a couple of times, the walleyes have always been big off shore. When they are in the river jigs are best.
