I was just wondering if the tournament on saginaw bay was going to be the same dates as it was for devils lake. If so why are they stepping on the Michigan Walleye Tour dates. The fisherman are going to have choose between them. Now you have the MWT anglers prefishing while the RCL tournament is going on. It seems that the RCL doesn't care who they step on. It won't be long before they are not welcomed anywhere. You would think they would check the dates of the other tournaments before they make a decision.
Make the most of yourself,
for that is all there is of you.

Great Move

Very good move to Saginaw, Unfortunate for the Tourism of Devils Lake,
but a large contingency of RCL owner Pros and CoAnglers do fish the Michigan walleye Trail and there is the scheduled date at Augre that weekend following, so if the final 10 are not MWT teams they can go right to Augre from Linwood. Good decision and good choice to accomidate a ckt. They can do a two in one trip, and not worry about the long haul to ND. Signup for this one it will be a good one and you wont have to worry about fishing the trees. PWT will be there a month latter.
Last time I checked there seemed to be enough water in lake Huron to accomadate the boats in question. I also think it might be advantageous to those pre-fishing to check out the rcl spots and presentations, or if they have their own spots that would not interfere with the MWT folks. Also friday there would be 60 boats and Saturday only 12. You wouldn"t be a "Lions Fan" that is taking out his frustrations here? Quit your whinning. If you do fish the MWT your goal should be to catch a better weight than the RCL winners and show them what your made of. I think thats an excellent opportunity to measure your abilities. Be positive not negative.

if you get lucky enough to make the cut for saturday in the rcl you wont be able to fish the mwt its a saturday and sunday tourney. seems to me that you would not pay for mwt then not be able to fish it. it will keep a lot of guys from entering the entire mwt circuit
Think again

Those top 6 that do make the cut will be well paid, MWT tournament fee will be a loss paid for over and above. And team members can sub if needed under the rules. No problem here.

Think Again,
I have not seen the new rules just the rules of the last 4 years.
If you choose a stand in partner the points you make for the tournament will not count for you and your regular partner. Its not a money thing its just we have alot of fun fishing the MWT alot of the guys have been fishing it since it started.
Not so fast, guys. The story I have, is that Bay City Chamber of Commerce does not want to pay RCL for coming to Hoyle's. That Tournament is not definite. That's why you haven't received your entry forms as yet. Another thing is that Bay City is ****ed lucky for the RCL even thinking about coming back to them after all that BAD publicity they received from the Detroit News last year. Someone from the SBWC should have straightened that out after it happened. Someone should have told Mr. Richey that the fish that died, we cleaned and given to needy families in the area. That part was never stated in his article. That made all of us tournament fisherman look bad. Sorry for such a long post, this should have been said along time ago. Thanks for listening, Bo #582
Hey Guys, My post from yesterday was incorrect. The RCL is ON for Saginaw Bay, out of Hoyle's Marina, for the last week in June. Sorry about the miss info. Tight lines, Bo #582

The new format for the RCL is 150 boats, pay 50 after 2 days and the top 20 advance to the third day with the weigh-in at Wal-Mart. The top ten fish on day 4.
The MWT should have no problem in fishing that Saturday or pre-fishing during the RCL tournament. This is much better that having the MWT before the tournament and having the anglers pick the MWT guys for information.
As far as being one of the top 10 on Saturday and being a MWT competetior, your partner will just have to fish alone on saturday. My son has done that for me a couple of times and it is no big thing for a competent angler to do that. MWT will let someone go in the boat with you, but you cannot have him do anything. He cannot net, steer etc. Good training for when you sign up for a Pro-Co tournament in the future.

Will the co-anglers be able to fish all 4 days if they make the cuts?Or do only the pro's fish on day 4? Please verify, Thanks.

I wrote the MWT rules and when you start out and THEN switch partners your POINTS DO NOT COUNT for the BOTH partners. READ THE RULES BEFORE YOU WRITE AND LOOK FOOLISH.

No individual gets paid in the SBWC to host a MWT tournament or inform outdoor writers like Dave Richey of the Detroit News of tournament happenings unlike all the big dollar PAID GUYS that run RCL and PWT. Deal with it or VOLUNTEER TO RUN A MWT TOURNAMENT AND THEN YOU CAN DO what needs to be done FOR FREE DUDE.
