Trying to decide what to get hubby and have got it down to two items. One is the RAM 2000 rod holders the other is a drift sock for his boat. The Cabella`s Spring master catalogue has several of the drift socks, but I don`t know which is the best to get him any help from his fellow fishermen would be appreciated.

I'd throw in a nice Loomis rod to go with that rod holder. Maybe a Stradic 2000 to boot.

I don't have the Cabela's in front of me at this moment. I bought the one that I think is called the "Premium" and was around $54. It had a metal supporting ring that snapped together. Deflation was done with a fifth line that caved the bottom and dumped the water. Sorry, without the catalog........................... Anyway, I really like it as do ALL of my fishing buddies. It really works great!
Good choices. My wife always asked me every year what I wanted. After awhile she decided to give me a gift certificate at Cabela's. Whatever you choose, I'm sure he will enjoy it.

You are obviously a very loving, and considerate bride! Your husband is a lucky man!
Your post does not list certain information which would help us decide what you exactly need, like the boat model, and size, what kind of fishing does he mainly do(trolling, or drifting etc).
My personal choice on the RAM rod holders is for the more expensive ball mount models. Much stronger, and will handle trolling with dipsy divers.
As for the drift sock I like to go with one size larger than suggested in the catalog. You can never go too slow for eyes sometimes!
If you need any further info feel free to contact me by private message here at WC, or e-mail me at lillypad@novagate.com
Merry Christams to all!

Thanks for the info--I have decided to get the rod holders and the sock to go along with the guidewear for those cold wet days. I already know what type of holders and the guidewear has already been ordered I need the type of drift sock--He has a Triton 205 with a 225 ficth motor. He fishes for just about anything that swims, He does alot of river fishing for bass, walleye and occasionally cats, and all the pan fish he can bring home. Does any of this help? I have been considering Cabella`s Drift-King 24 diameter. Will this be suitable? Thanks again.

Since you're buying the best for your sweetie already, why not buy him the best driftbag on the market too? (and NO I'm not sponsored by them).

The 52" bag will be the one you're looking for.
Happy Holidays! (I know your hubby is going to be very happy this Christmas..;-))
