Just a tip. Spent some time on Big Winnie last week. The water is pretty darn warm already. Fishing shallow is good only for small Perch and smallish Northerns. You want some good size walleyes, go deep. We caught a bunch of slot walleyes (17"-26") last week at the 20' drops with heavy chop and a spinner with a minnow. Fishing that way will get you two things: 1- You will catch more walleye. 2- You will be able to avoid the boat parking lots in the shallows.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the info. Good stuff.

This time of year walleye bite in Winnie is usually pretty good in the 8-12 foot depths. Your experience and info will help anyone who will be there in the near future.

I will be in that area this week, don't know if we will fish Winnie, but I will report on the action.

Thanks again.

Best Fishes,
