The
Weekend Outlook
6-8-2006
Hi
My first impulse was to simply write "nothing's changed" and let it go at that - It wouldn't be a very interesting report but it would, nonetheless, be accurate. We're STILL seeing above average catches coming from the mud, gravel, deep rocks and shallow rocks. The recent wind has taken the spinner bite up a few notches - if you like this kind of presentation, now's the time to do it. If you've never tried it, now's the time to do it! Many of the fish are scattered around the deep sides of the various structures and running through them with a spinner rig has been deadly. Lots of big fish again this week with a good number of "eaters" mixed in. If you're planning a trip to Mille Lacs, PLAN FASTER... this can't/won't go on forever. Some of the better spots this week include the 4-mile Gravel, Sloppy Joes, Seguchie Flat, Phil's Flat and Sherman's Flat.
The "night ban" is over for this year.
The surface temperature is 66 degrees.
The weather for the weekend (from the National Weather Service) looks like this:
Today: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high around 81. South southwest wind between 8 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Tonight: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. Southwest wind between 3 and 7 mph.
Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a high near 82. Light wind becoming west southwest between 12 and 15 mph.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low near 57. West wind between 5 and 10 mph.
Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a high around 83. Calm wind becoming west between 8 and 11 mph.
The last quarter moon is 6-18-2006.
Don't to check out our weekly "shop special" at http://www.lundeens.com/shop.html.
Finally,
The new Supermarket up town has an automatic mister to keep the produce fresh. What are they going to think of next? Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of a thunderstorm. When you approach the milk cases, you hear cows mooing. When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cackle. So far I have been too afraid to go down the toilet paper aisle.
Have a great weekend,
Bill Lundeen
