Translucent day glow orange, bright in murky water but not overstated in clean water.

Gold plated. Any color works for me as long as it is gold, under most conditions. However, my favorite color o the day happens to be what the walleyes want, not what I want to toss to them.

Have fun.......R

When fishing with minnows. I also use alot of unpainted heads when fishing shads and minnow colored plastics.

i have always envisioned a school of walleyes similar to a group of people at a steakhouse. the people will generally order their steaks
varying from rare to well done, in equal numbers. sound crazy so far?
when i'm using jigs, (mainly under slip-bobbers), i will have all of the jig colors represented on number of pre-rigged rods. how many times have you caught a fish or two in the first few minutes on a spot and then nothing? caught just the biters, right? yes...and...no. you caught the ones that liked that color. i usually switch colors, even if i catch a fish on the first two casts! while the other guys in the boat sit with the first 'hot color', waiting for the next walleye that liked that color to swim into the school, i continue to pick off fish
by offering all the choices. by the time you've gone through a series of colors, the original might be good for another bite or two. sound crazy? maybe...but proof is usually in the livewell. some like it black, some like it white, some like it whatever. same theory with types of livebait that i tip the jig with.

Contrast over color. I tie on black to start any day, then switch.

yah...I like hot pink jigs too, but don't like to admit it in front of other guys, ya know?
ONLY on tackle, I like it!

Got to agree with "Naughty Finger" on this one. Black is the most versatile color jighead. I don't know of any color plastic that a black jighead won't work with. It looks very natural on the dark colors and provides great contrast with the lighter and brighter colors.

Pesonally, I use the very opposite that my partner is using as I usually catch most of the fish. Oh, my aching back!

In order

white
pink
black
chart.
orange
green

for some reason, blue can be real good thru the ice, I have never caught much on it on open water though. Blue is probably my first choice ice fishing.

I too second the unpainted. That and chartreuse are my two favourites. Tipped with a good minnow or a worm or leach........you have an unbeatable combination in my neck of the woods. I see lots of different colours and combos over the years and I really don't think it matters that much. Put anything "in their face" and they will grab it.

In almost any water, glow in the dark, for clear water blue.
