The
Weekend Outlook
8-24-2006
Helloo? Where did everybody go? Other than a few muskie hunters and a handful of tourists Mille Lacs has been REALLY quiet this week. The walleye action has still been decent as long as the wind blows. Slip bobbers/leeches on the shallow (12 feet or less) rock reefs is still the place to be. We're also catching some scattered fish throwing Shad Raps and Wally Divers in these same areas and pulling them off the deep edges. There's been a few boats and a couple launches bobberin' at night, but that bite has been somewhat inconsistent so far - look for it to improve as the water temperaturs drops. Muskie fishing remains relatively unchanged over the past 3 weeks - the north end and Vineland bay are the top 2 spots. Look for the reef action to get better for the muskiw too, as things cool down.
Yes, we still have leeches!
The surface temperature is hovering around 70 degrees.
The weather for the weekend (from the National Weather Service) looks like this:
Tonight: Periods of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 9pm and 1am. Some of the storms could be severe and produce heavy rainfall. Low around 60. East southeast wind between 13 and 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. East southeast wind between 6 and 15 mph.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. East southeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm.
Saturday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.
The new moon was Wednesday, 8-23-06.

Most of the changes to the Weekend Outlook have been made and we look to the conversion to all HTML mailings to begin next week (if everything goes as planned). If you cannot receive HTML email, you can always check out the report on our website at www.lundeens.com before you make the trip to Mille Lacs. We hope you enjoy the new look.
Finally, A police officer stops a blonde for speeding and asks her very nicely if he could see her license. She replied in a huff, "I wish you guys would get your act together. Just yesterday you take away my license and then today you expect me to show it to you!"
Have a great weekend,
