Just trying to get a few suggestion on what the best kinds of spoons to use when slabbing for walleye in a shad base lake. Any suggestions would be great.

I use a variety of Hopkins jigging spoons, mainly in hammered silver. Not cheap but they’re built like the proverbial brick outhouse and better yet they really :grd:

I haven't done the jigging spoon thing a lot in open water, but Buck-Shot Rattle Spoons have produced in the Mississippi River, and shad are a primary forage base there.
Have also used spoons of that sort on deep structure on Rainy Lake.
Not really a slab style spoon, but it has been good in the open water situations I mentioned.
