Great rod. I've got the AVS 60MF model. Use it primarily for jigging and livebait rigging although I've pulled smaller cranks with it as well.

Use a 60 MF and a 66 MF to throw jigs and plastic as well as cranks. Great feel, very light. Too fast for my liking to vertical jig or to rig with. Tip is not soft enough.I keep them in the boat all the time and use them alot. Keep it vertical.

Very sensitive rod. The best I ever had. Improved my catch.

Great rod. Very light and sensitive yet unbelievably strong. A great jigging and rigging rod. I've added the HMG AV to my arsenal also as it's a little softer in the tip for when you have to let them "chew" a bit, but still has the Armid Veil technology for sensitivity and strength. Fenwick has something to talk about with these rods.

I really love my AV. It's the most sensitive jigging rod I've owned so far. I've got the 6'6" med action. I use it for tossing jigs and some lindy rigging in the spring on Mille Lacs. If you can find them under 200, they are worth the buy. Make sure you get the hard tube when you buy it too...

They get my vote as the best series of rods in my arsenal. I"ve got em in 5.9, 6.0. 6.6 & 7.0. Lots of hook setting power and great sensitivity. Only draw back I can think of is when it's below freezing the tips freeze up REAL fast becasue the eyes are so small. Other than that I LOVE EM!!! Hutch

Hey Hutch,
How you doing, haven't seen you around much lately. I've been told to put chap stick on the rod guides to keep them from freezing up. I'm gonna give it a try Sat. morning down in Red Wing. Last Saturday, I did have a lot of ice in my guides.
Is the ring worm business out of control right now?? It should be, with the bite on those plastics the way it is right now!!!

Hey JK, how's it going. I did the chap stick trick and It's kinda ok. What I do is keep a Mr. Heater, the one you can cook on with the built in grate in the boat. Anyway I take a gallon can and fill it 2/3 full of river water and put it on top. On low in a few minutes you have nice warm water. Rod tip ices up, just dunk it for a SECOND and your good to go. WORKS REAL GOOD!! After a while it gets hot and you just dumb 1/2 out and add some more cold water and just keep cycleing it. You can also use it to warm up water or coffee, cook your little dinner and best of all. If your hands get chilled just pick up the can with your hands and hold it for a minute. Man oh man does that ever feel good when your cold. I have mine hook up to a hose and a charchol grill tank so it last a long time. Matter of fact I have 2 extra T'S on it and the hoses so I can actully hook up 3 heaters at a time to keep everybody nice and toasty while were catching all those MONSTERS :):):) Everybody counts sheep, well with me now it's R.W. and buck. LOL Take care!! Hutch
