open water!

I took a drive around several area (western Minnesota) lakes yesterday and, though I did not see any lakes that were completely ice free, most had patches of open water. Not only that, but most of the sloughs in the area are completely ice free. After seeing that, I am guessing we will have some lakes ice free in the next week to ten days. Granted we did have a snowstorm here today, but my guess is still open water in the not too distant future!
