I will be in the Ypsilanti Mi. area for a while next spring-summer what is the best launch ramp from say Trenton south to the Ohio border? I see there are a few on the Hot Spot Maps, also how about Tackle/bait shops near the ramps. Thanks! John_Bar
PS; I have 19ft. boat.

The ramps that come to mind are: Lake Erie Metropark, Elisabeth Park in Trenton, Sterling State Park in Monroe, Bolles Harbor also in Monroe, there are other privately owned ramps, email me for details.

John, if you want to fish the reef area there are a lot of ramps in Ohio between Toledo and Port Clinton that will put you real close.

Perchjerker named all of the better launches on MI waters. Sterling State Park is or will be closed down through next year. I would rule out Elizabeth because there are no lights in the parking lot and par parking.
Erie Metro Park is excellent, close to Detroit River/Breast Bay area. If fishing more in Lake Erie, Bolles Harbor is also very good. I did 70% of my fishing from Bolles Harbor this year but usually ended up better off going out of Sterling State Park.
Almost forgot, there is a bait shop directly across from Erie Metro Park and there are (2) bait shops just down the road east of the entrance to Bolle's Harbor.
Stormsearch is right on the money. Sterling State Park is closed till spring 2003.
