What ever happen to the first ammendment? Right to free speech, freedom of press in a public forum? I see WC moderators are monitoring what they see fit to protect big daddy Cabela's an the NTC tournament. In a past discussion there was nothing offensive expressed but they determined that it was in a moderator's best interest to remove what I percieved as a casual conversation about possible tournament selection sites and tournament fisherman's opinions.
It's a sorry day when we see Cabela's calling the shots on Walleye Central or in descretion of a WC moderator's opinion.
I agree with the axed discussion that Cabela's tournament director's aren't listening to the average participant whom "might" be fishing in the tournament. Cabelas, Walleye central monitors and any other fishing sponsor, tournament director, remember..... we are the customer and we have choices.
S. Golden can you clear things up? Why are we restricting the opinions that Cabela's tournament director's need to hear? Thanks for your response & good fishing!

They said they would announce the site when the selection process has been finished. They haven't got a signed sealed deal yet so they can't announce a site that could fall through and then listen to all the fallout from guys that had to change plans. The dates are already announced. You may lose or gain prefish time based upon travel demands that do not now coincide with your locked in vacation times. This is unfortunate but they had a lot of city's offer to hold the event and to their credit they checked out all the options and made the best choice they think can be made. Now they're waiting for the locals to approve the contracts and send it all back.

A.) This is not a public forum. It is a privately owned company and therefore the right to free speech does not extend.
B.) If you have something Cabelas tourney directors need to hear, email or call them. More effective than anonymous bashing don't you think?
C.) I have been rapped by the mod's here more than once..in fact today I got an email again :) I deserved each censure.
This isn't a democracy nor is it a republic.
Just a few words.
The first, the Milford Lake, KS area would still love to host the event again. Kansas is still talking about all of you great walleye anglers, I can't say enough THANK YOU'S!!!
As some of you know, this is a major event and takes hundreds of hours, and I mean hundred of hours, to put on a tournament of this size. Heck, the stadium alone was a massive effort. I know at Milford Lake, we purposely set the bar real high, to put pressure on any community that would host the event in 2004, as they'll have to work even harder. We know that some teams that fished the 2003 NTC will be at the 2004 NTC, so this creates a "pressure problem" for the host, as they'll want to do it better and bigger.
Without a doubt, Cabela's is doing every thing they can to speed the process along, but they also have other duties and responsibilities. I'm not defending anyone, I'm just saying that it's a long process.
Already looking to 2005 and submitting a bid.
Thanks and hope everyone has a great 2004 Fishing Season.

There were some uncalled for personal attacks on some individuals in that thread.
