I was just notified that I won a free trip to Naughty Pines Fish Camp Located on Wegg Lake, English River System, 14 miles from Ear Falls. Has anyone heard of it and do you have any opinions? Any comments would be appreciated

I BOUGHT A FISH FINDER A FEW YEARS AGO AND RECIEVED A FREE TRIP THERE, BUT YOU HAD TO BUY ONE FULL PRICE VACATION TO RECIEVE THE FREE ONE, SO I DIDN'T USE IT. WALLEYE INSIDER HAD AN ARTICLE IN THE LAST ISSUE ABOUT THE ENGLISH RIVER SYSTEM IN IT. YOU MAY WANT TO CHECK IT OUT.

Was there two years ago, caught a lot of walleye and northern, leachs for walleye up by the dam. Food was great, Soloman and the rest of the crew would do all they could to make it a memorable trip. Do not go the red zones, I spent money for new lower unit after I was there.

This "free trip" is just a gimmick to lure you to a real screwing.
The camp is a boat in, from the public ramp at Manitou Falls.
The camp facilities and service are much below average for the high price they charge, and there are hidden charges for everything!
They do not allow any live bait at all.
They charge a horrific price for frozen minnows which are the only bait available from them.
They allow you two or three gallons of outboard fuel per day,and then charge six or seven dollars U.S per gallon for what you use after that.
The better fishing is about twenty miles west of the camp at Hidden Lake or Wilcox Lake,so you would use several gallons of additional fuel each day.
The camp owner (a Minnisota resident from the Park Rapids area) is very uncooperative,if he will even talk to you regarding conditions encountered.
Our group left the camp in midweek because of the treatment and conditions we experienced.
We talked to most other people at the camp and they all agreeded that they would never return.
You will spend more money if you buy this half cost ripoff gimmick than you would for a quality fly in trip.
I could give more sordid details but the whole experience sickens me.

Was there some years ago,but i took my 16ft.with me ,rented one of their boats( 4 of us)I think gas was included in the fee and we could use minnows on time three of us caught 69 northerns below the falls .we had lots of walleyes 6.lb top end I BROUGHT A 22LB. PIKE home ,on 6lb line in johnson lake the narrow chanel that enters the lake has a lot of curent on windy days or rain night time you can throw any thing dont matter big pike and bear at unexpected lake. Steve HANKE took good care of us .went 1st week in june. its not far at all to drive.by Dryden.I would bring your on gas ... Had a great time. lots of fish.

They give alot of them trips out. You win a free trip but you have to bring somebody else along and they charge him for the trip.
It may be okay, but I,m a little skeptical.
