As of yesterday (7/1/04) the Holiday Inn, in Molene, IL has set aside 100+ rooms, at a special rate, for the RCL Championship Qualifiers.
The hotel has a secure parking lot w/lighting and electrical hookups.
For those interested, when you call, you MUST tell the front desk that you are an RCL Champ. qualifier in order to get the special rate.
The rooms are going fast, so call asap.
The phone number is: 309-762-8811

wallytap 07-02-2004, 11:17 AM Hey Juls: When will people know for sure that they are in the Championship? Some folks are on the edge of in or out........Is this motel close to the boat launch being used for the Championship?
Juls_OH 07-02-2004, 02:33 PM .....
If you fished the RCL Tour, the top 120 qualified. You can check the standings on the RCL website: http://www.flwoutdoors.com
Those standings have been posted since the day after the last tournament.
If you think you qualified from another qualifying event, but are not sure, then call the FLW offices at 270-252-1000, and find out.
You must send in an entry form even if you did qualify, and I think those need to be in by the 6th. The entry can be faxed too, to 270-252-1001.
The Holiday Inn is close to the launch, but it's still going to take, and I'm guessing here, 10 minutes to get to it????
I've never been there before, but the map shows it's pretty close.

KansasState 07-05-2004, 07:58 PM the 6th of what?
Juls_OH 07-05-2004, 10:03 PM July 6th is what I was told by a gal in the FLW offices. But, after reading the rules in the brochure, it looks like that date is only for the RCL Tour anglers(?). I'm really not sure.
I copy/pasted the championship rules from the FLW site, so you can figure it out for yourselves. ;-)
Wal-Mart RCL Championship
From the RCL Walleye Tour the top 120 Pros and the top 120 Co-anglers from the year-end Points Standings will qualify for the RCL Championship. From the Wal-Mart RCL League events the top 5 Boaters and Co-anglers from each state's Points Standings will qualify for the RCL Championship. FLW Outdoors must receive a completed championship entry form within 15 days from the final qualifying event. If any qualifier is unable to attend or has already qualified for the Wal-Mart RCL Championship, the next angler on the standings list will be eligible.
From other sanctioned events a minimum of 60 Pro and 60 Co-angler positions will be available. Pro-angler participation is open only to registered Ranger, Crestliner or Lund owners who participate as boaters in sanctioned tournaments. Co-angler participation is open to anyone who participates in sanctioned tournaments. It will be the responsibility of qualifying anglers to submit their application in accordance with the procedures outlined below. In order to be eligible, the Ranger, Crestliner or Lund boat owner must fish out of a Ranger, Crestliner or Lund boat (except for amateurs or co-anglers), be the registered owner of a Ranger, Crestliner or Lund and must have purchased their boat prior to qualifying for the RCL Walleye Championship. Qualification for the RCL Walleye Championship begins August 18, 2003 and ends August 17, 2004. Anglers can fish only one division (Pro or Co-angler) and occupy only one slot. Anglers who register must complete and submit an entry form beginning February 2, 2004 or within 15 days of the qualifying event which contains the following information: Qualifying event and date, place of finish and weight, copy of boat title or bill of sale and current boat registration w/boat and outboard model and year (boat documentation needs to be submitted only once.)
Anglers may register from every sanctioned event they compete in until they are confirmed. No deposit is due when registering for the RCL Championship. Available slots will be filled based on place of finish. Qualifying anglers will be sent a letter of confirmation and given a deposit and balance deadline date. FLW Outdoors will maintain a waiting list (based on place of finish) for each sanctioned organization; if any angler fails to submit their deposit or balance by the due date, the next angler on the waiting list will become eligible. In order to assure a full field of 400 anglers, if any of the eligible anglers choose not to enter, participation may be offered to other Ranger, Crestliner or Lund owners competing in the sanctioned walleye tournaments, beginning August 17, 2004. (The possibility exists that more than 400 anglers may compete in the RCL Championship

Reels 07-07-2004, 01:53 PM There is also a Country inn and suites, and the rooms are cheaper than Holidays Special rate in September. It is right next to the Holiday Inn, and much nicer rooms, with refrigerator, couch, two tv's, microwave.
If anyone needs some local information, feel free to e-mail me. I live a few miles from there.

Walleye X 07-08-2004, 01:53 PM The rooms at the Country Inn are $84.00 a night where at the Holiday Inn they are $69.00 for a king or 2 double beds.
Reels 07-08-2004, 02:57 PM Sign up for the priority club (Free) ask them to match the Holiday Inn price, and they will, or close to it. I made reservations for a friend yesterday and it was $72.
But even if you did pay the $84 and there is more than one of you in the room, it is worth the extra $$. There are two rooms- one sleeping, one living- and the living room has a couch bed if there are more than two of you.
Just a thought, I have no conections- I just have stayed at both, and the Holiday is a bit worn down.
One perk of the Holiday Inn, if you a priority member, you get a free hot breakfast.

Kando 07-19-2004, 07:08 AM HAS ANYONE WHO DIDNT FINISH IN THE TOP 125 RECIEVE AN INVITATION FROM FISHING IN ANOTHER CIRCUIT TO FISH IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP YET?
Juls_OH 07-19-2004, 07:51 PM I don't think the FLW folks are in charge of keeping track of other circuits (just my guess). It would be up to the anglers, and the tournament director of those other circuits, to keep track of who qualified and who didn't. It would also be the responsibility of each angler that qualified to get their entry in.
If you think you qualified, but aren't sure, check with your tournament director, to find out. If you did qualify, get your entry in asap.
Good luck, and hope to see you there!

lscott 08-25-2004, 11:06 AM I just called Country Inn and Suites the price was $94 for one of the small rooms. They said they will not match the price of Holiday Inn and no priority club. ???????????
Reels 08-25-2004, 01:23 PM Not sure what is going on, but you can do it online. http://www.countryinns.com
$78 a night. Join the Raddison/country inn and suites club thing, you will get your rate reduced more. (At least they always have) I send a lot of my customers there when they come into town.
The only difference between the business suite and the regular is one has a bigger desk. The room sizes are the same.

Juls_OH 09-16-2004, 11:01 AM The Holiday Inn is a very nice hotel, but the parking for those of us pulling boats is a big hassle! The partiers in the room next to us last night, and that dang waterfall in the pool area was so noisy that we didn't get much sleep. We moved out of there this morning. Just a heads up to those who planned on staying there for the tournament...expect parking problems, long walks to your rooms, and a lot of noise! There are cheaper places across the river, and a lot more amenitites available too.
Good luck and we'll see you soon!
Juls
WAZZZ 09-16-2004, 01:10 PM Jul's I was there last week I and couldn't find anyone to party with so I cancelled my reservations. Seriously, I saw right away the problems that we would encounter parking rigs. Those without boats excellent choice. I found a KOA campground with "Camping Cabins"
$280 for a week. Bring your own towels, pillows and sleeping bag. The have heat, microwave and small fridge in some units. only a couple units left.
Juls_OH 09-16-2004, 05:07 PM Sounds like you found a winner! We got lucky too and landed in the Econo Lodge in Bettendorf. It has a very nice layout and the price was right! $299.00/week ;-)
Our group got the last of the weekly rooms though, because the hotel has a reservation for a bus load (literally) of people coming in on Monday the 27th for one night, so that ruins any chance of anyone else who wants to stay the duration of the tournament.
Hey WAZ...guess what we have right across the street.......did you bring your clubs? wink wink!!!!!
