The first WWA Illinois division tournament was held on the Fox Chain out of Antioch. Twenty-five teams encountered a cold front that brought overcast skies in the morning and steady rain in the afternoon. Teams could weigh-in 6 fish in the 14-18 inch size range with one fish per angler over 24 inches. Illinois has a slot that does not allow anglers to keep walleyes in the 18 to 24 inch size range.
The Father and Son team of Jim Miller Sr. and Jim Miller Jr. took first place honors with four fish weighing in at 6.07 pounds.
Second Place went to the team of Mike Wall and Scott Falkanger who also brought in four fish that tipped the scales at 5.82 pounds.
Third place honors went to Marc Dunn and Bill Adcock with four fish weighing 5.67 pounds. They also took big fish honors with a fish weighing in at 2.14 pounds.
The primary presentation was pitching bigger jigs, and smaller jigs with a split shot in front of them tipped with a minnow, into one to two feet of water.
The next Illinois WWA Division tournament is April 29th on the Fox Chain at Antioch.

FYI - there is a special slot limit on the Chain system but there isn't a state wide slot limit in Illinois

Apparently if you talk about a circuit it has to be positive, warm & fuzzy talk or it gets nuked. Didn't see any bashing going on, just the truth.

that's what I thought - seemed to me to be dialogue and sharing facts

who makes the call to whack these posts? tony soprano?

I believe the WWA was done a dis-favor when the posts were nuked.Unless the WWA director is happy with 25 boats,he's probably wondering what he do to atract more entries. The answers were right here.He could have stopped at Halings bar, too,as more former CWS anglers were there then fished the WWA.

That only lists the lst 3 places. Were there more? If so, where are they?

Let's not forget one important thing here!! The loyalty and trust has worn out its welcome!! Default, close up shop, move on, and maybe some other tourney will show up in town. Once trust is abandoned, you can bet it will be a hardsell to get boats back!

Hey, I have a great idea. Let's get a buddy tournament together for say 50 dollars a team and make a 95 percent payback. The other 5 percent will go to the facility supporting us. Payout could be top 5 places. Think we could get more than 26 boats, and we can pay in cash on the spot.

Any thoughts???

Okay....

And who is going to be willing to put in a couple hundred hours a year to run it for free?

$50 a team and let's say it really takes off and you have 70 teams. 5% of that is $175. They'll be lining up to host it.

Apparently I WILL NOT allow you to BASH the WWA or any other circuit on this website.

I nuked the threads, they were not constructive at all.

They were bashing the circuit, comparing it to another circuit and on and on and on....this ain't the place for personal vendettas and if you have problems with the way a circuit is run why not contact someone that can do something about it instead of crying here?

If you don't like that policy... I'll refund your money.

Oh, never mind.. I can't refund your money... it doesn't cost anything to join Walleye Central.

Quit whining... Shut Up and Fish.

Payout was 80% and $10.00 from the entry fee went to big fish pot.

Was that $10 part of the 80%? Should the owner/director that home more money then the winner?

sigh

Man, you cats will whine about anything, won't you?

Entry fee was always $200.00 until 2004? Then it was raised to $210.00 so everyone was automatically entered in the big fish pot. If you have questions on payout you should e-mail steve@worldwalleye.com he can better answer anything you'll get from here.

Wow,there are alot of complainers, with the amount of complaints one would get the impression that Seve must fill every spot.I know this is a fun fish and as well run as it can possibly be. But the way you guys make it sound its the worst thing since the the dog getting shot in the movie Sounder.Or finding out the rich Aunt whos but you had to wipe died and left every thing to the cat. I know how to improve it stop being crybabys and fish it. Tell Steve face to face your ideas and stop hideing behind screen names and do something. This is still the best small personal circuit out there and with the cost of gas and everything else the best value. Also you may actually have fun and learn something. And just so you know I did fish it and I did like it.I m no longer able to fish it do to back problems but I may sneek in one or two this year,so stop whinning and shut up and fish! scooter

Yea Im a wanna be!!!!I wanna be fishin, instead Im on here wishen I could be. As far as competeing I will fish againts anyone anywhere and if I lose oh well, I bet I go away learning something and haveing a good time. So if this old wanna be is able and the back dont give out, I will be in the Wisconsin division at least once and if i get my tail handed to me oh well. But the only complaining will be to the doctor. Not on this board wimpering like a little girl about how the guys running a tournament made it a bad fish.Last time I had a bad day fishing it was still better than working. scooter

I am enjoying the tales between you two. Scooter, you must really enjoy your fishing and congratulations to you. I am sorry to hear of your physical conditions that limit you. Maybe you should take some time in rehabilitation before you compete. Just a thought though. Oddly enough, I have not figured out if you cannot type or spell. Words like wishen, haveing, wimpering are mispelled. If you want to learn something, grab a dictionary and a grammar book. These two will help you communicate better while resting your muscles.

As for your reply alias, he/she should not attack other people and their opinions. I would think the proper thing would be to post his/her view and let others post a rebuttal without the childish replies.

Obviously, both of you need more time fishing and less time on the web!
