Seems like the stands are empty at the weigh in for the Super Duper pro's. I remember a crowd all three days at past PWT events.

One, the weather was not the best for hanging out at a weigh in...chilly and windy. Today sounds a bit better though.
Two, they are not in a very populated area, and unless the resort they are going out of has a good tourist crowd right now, which I doubt, they won't have a good weigh in crowd.

From what I have heard is alot of them are coming in early because of the no cull. Once you have five your done.

That's true too. If I, a spectator, were told the weigh in starts at 6pm, but over half the field had already weighed in and left, then it wouldn't be the first thing I would put on my list of things to do the next day. ;)

Not much you can do with events like that. Devils Lake events are the same way. Once you have your fish....you're done fishing. No prefishing for the next day either....nada...nothing.
At least that's how it has been in the past when we were there.

Plus just how many people are going to watch 60 guys hold up 16-18" fish after fish? BORING.... little drama until the last few guys to weigh-in on the last day. So if you watch the last 10 min. of the event you saw it all. Kinda like a basketball game uh?

I guess the PWT lets you weigh in early then?? The FLW has you wait at the dock until the 3PM weigh-in starts. Something for the PWT to think about if they want to make it a good show for the fans.

Yeah but it is sure nice that those fish can be weighed and released....and not stuffed in a livewell at the dock all afternoon. Much better survival rate I am sure!!

It's really fun when it is cold and raining and you have to wait until 3:00. I can see it on the last day maybe but not on the other days. The MTT will let you come in anytime to way one or more fish. That is really nice if you have a female ready to drop there eggs.

In South Dakota that is a "Crowd" :7

I got there a little after six on day one to watch the weigh-in and was a little disappointed to see about half the teams had weighed in already. Between that and the wind/rain, there really weren't that many people there. That was my first PWT weigh in to watch though, and thought they had one heck of a set-up. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the pros, which came through as they got interviewed. A neat experience.

Yes, good point on that, and all the other reasons other folks mentioned.
Where they were at, there simply are not many people to draw.
If they'd get the Budweiser girls involved or the Swedish Bikini team, they might get a turnout?

7# to 11# limits and the winner averaging less than a 2# average for the winning fish is a little hard to get excited and wet your pants over. Same thing happened at Winnieconnie. Is it bad timing, depleted fisheries or poor site selection? Spectators like to see big fish and 1 1/4# to 1 3/4# wieners don't cut the mustard. Nor do they sell many $55,000.00 walleye rigs. You gotta also wonder how many walleye rigs get sold by having a rock climbing wall at the weigh in.

My mistake. The winner did average a little over 2 LBS. per fish. There was a 5 fish limit instead of 6 fish each day.

people do not care how many lbs/ they want too know who the winner is. It was a really neat 3rd day for the crowd, i heard alot of awsom comments. It sounds as if your anti pwt.

Where else in the country...(besides Erie) can you go where over 90% of the teams brings in a limit of VERY NICE walleyes all 3 days. I fish that system and I regard it as one of the best fisheries int he country! 15-20" Walleyes is a thriving fishery. I heard one pro angler...when prefishing there say....he's caught more walleyes in the 1st hr of being there, than he did all week in Winneconne. Now that's great fishing! And many teams averaged 2lbs. That's nice.
