Anybody hear this?

This guy really gets under my skin. I think they just run on a different frequency than we do up here in the midwest. Work ethics seem to be lacking.

If half the stuff said by Nagin was said by anyone else, they would be branded a racist and people would be screaming bloody murder.

He might have been referring to:
"New Orleans has always been a chocolate city and New Orleans will be chocolate again".
BTW, my wife went to NO and all I got was a "NO Chocolate City" t-shirt

I lived in NO for a year and a half when I was in the service and I have never been more glad to leave a place. My idea would be to rebuild the seaport and build the city sommewhere above sea level. It was a disaster waiting for a time to happen. Just my .02.

Well in reality, Ray Nagin isn't too far off on this one. Penn and Teller had a great episode on their show B S about all the politics and delays in rebuilding the WTC. It was a real eye opener of all the goof and mistakes and design problems that are still going on to today.
The chocolate city is something else. I love the way he tried to spin it afterwards. "I mean milk chocolate, you know dark chocolate and white milk mixed makes milk chocolate." :rotflmao:

ISN'T THIS THE SAME GUY THAT SAID THE FEDERAL GOV. BLEW UP THE DIKES AND CAUSED THE CITY TO FLOOD.

You notice Nagin has never taken a single thread of responsibility for anything? The school buses not moving...not following the NO city plan for evacuation...was the school board's fault. Everything was someone elses fault. They voted for a dufus for mayor...and that's what they got. He's not had one solution either. It's all give...give...give. I believe you won't find any trashed cars...washed out houses....and trees laying in the streets of NYC. They had it cleaned up fast. Taking a shot at the rebuilding only shows Ray's ignorance. ####, he couldn't find the bleeping keys to the buses people. You voted him back in....I laugh at you.

Lundy, are you paying attention? Ive been listening to most of Nagin's comments for the last several years. Most of what comes from his mouth is racist.

He is the mayor and he seems to think that you just sit on your back side and squeal for help instead of having your own plan. The next step is to complain about it taking a while for help to get to you. He seems to think that Katrina hit NO and no where else. NO is a large city, how many emergency workers does he think were available for just NO? There were people driving out of town. He should have been hauling people in city busses instead of squealing. Just my .o2.

Looks lke round two is brewing SE of Cuba right now.
Let's see if him and Landreau start holwing before it hits this time.
Perhaps he will act a little faster and get all his family out in time, instead of just a couple. He can always use the example of the US House Rep. from that area that last time used the National Guard to get them and their belongings out while leaving his constituents drowning.
BTW that Rep. waited out the storm in Houston, TX. At your expense!

What can one expect

from the mayor of the Voodoo capital of the U.S.
The derelicts who administer NO have received fed levy funds for decades and could have upgraded their levy system long ago. But they haven't for two reasons. First of all, NO is notoriously corrupt. The money was undoubtedly spent on crack and ho's.
Secondly, if they repaired their own levy system, then they would have to take responsibility for the results. Taking responsibility for their own decisions is something they are utterly unwilling to do. It's called sloth and is genetically ingrained. Don't beieve it? Take a look at Africa. The continent has the greatest natural resources on the planet and the people still live in thatched huts and eat each other.
NO has been propped up with money from the rest of the country or else it would be the same.

Yup, when you live below sea level it is a good idea not to depend on everyone else to keep ya dry. I was there during hurrican Betsy and it was the same. Sit on your butt and let the neighbors across the street drown because they were in wheel chairs and couldn't get to the attic.

So Dacotah Eye you're living below sea level and a hurricane of the magnitude of Katrina is heading your way, whats your plan to keep dry so you're not depending on "everyone else to keep ya dry"
Also when you was there during Hurricane Betsy i'm currious how many people you helped get out of harms way.
Because i know you would'nt "sit on your butt and let people drown because they were in wheelchairs and could'nt get to the attic".
And to "What can one expect" the anonymous poster where did you get your info that "New Orleans recieved fed levy funds for dedcades and could have upgraded their levy system long ago" That just not fact, the Army Corps of Engineers is in charge of building and the upkeep of the levys and were derilict in their duties for decades as we now see.
You also made mention of the continent of Africa where people "still live in thatched huts and eat each other" You did'nt have to leave the continent that you live on, in fact the very same country you live in, I'm assuming the USA, where people eat each other i.e Jeffery Dahmer,Eddie Gein,Ed Kemper,Richard Chase, Ottis Toole,Stanley Dean Baker, Daniel Rakovitz, Gary Heidik, Arhur Shawcross,Dale Merle Nelson you get my point or maybee not.
Because it is You who wont take responsibilty for the non truths you have posted on this site.
Dont get it twisted Ray Nagin can be a meathead but get your story right!!
Do your own leg work

if you are actually interested in the truth, which obviously your not. However, for purposes of discussion, let's say I'm wrong, your right, and NO never received nor had access to levy funds. So how come they never fixed their own levy system? They've only had 50-100 years to do so and after all, it's their butts. Don't even try to say they never had the money. They could have taxed themselves, raised the money, and fixed their own levies, bottom line. The money spent on crack alone the last 30 years would certainly have paid for the best levy system money could buy. However, it's sooooooo much easier and feels sooooooo much better to let somebody else do it. After all, this is pc America and if anybody expects us to wipe our own butts, well, we can always play the race card, call those people who expect anything from us racists, and surely the reality impaired media will back us.
Many years ago, Kobe, Japan, (another port city), was leveled by an earthquake. Those people didn't want outside help. Indeed, it would have been considered very shameful to expect or ask for help. They rebuilt their own city. How come the citizens of NO can't/won't do the same?
BTW, lundy, you sure don't do the folks your trying to defend any favors by comparing them to psychopaths.
