Do I take no replys as good or bad? Can anybody help me out.
Been fishing the area for nine years and never heard about the lodge (that should tell you something), but nobody fishes Abram Lake anyway - they all fish on Minnitaki Lake. Quite a long boat ride - 1.5 to 2 hours one way (when there's no wind). And the English River bite dies out in late July.
Try Pickerel Arm Camp, it's right on Minnitaki and a know it's a top notch camp.

Karl, Looking around on this Canada,eh? area I see you seem to have lots of opinions. Well, I see you've never heard of Winoga Lodge, but that just shows that you don't know everything. Winoga Lodge has been in existance for many, many years. It even has a book written about it. The book is Crazy White Man, by Richard Morenus. He lived on the island in the 1940's. Have you ever heard of the book? If not, maybe it's just not been in existence by your standards.
Open your eyes, and your mind.

Well maybe I can help you out on this one, The fishing on Abram is good lots of reefs none to worry about for your motors sake, I have been fishing this area for years and I have stayed at Winoga a countless amount of time, more there then anywhere else and I keep going back several times throughout the year, The Resort is top shelf, the hosts are passionate about what they do, and the owner Dick can always show you where the fish are at, now the sturgeon river flows into Abram about a mile or so from the camp and from the camp to the end of the river to mcdougal mill wayerfall is about 17 miles up and along the way is Botsford Lake which produces some very nice walleys and pike, I was just up there fishing and huntina about a week ago and we hammered the walleys up the river about 5 mile from the camp and the great part abou the river system is you can't get lost and the water never gets to rough. And I don't know what that other guy is saying a bout noone fishing Abram and everyone fishing minnitaki, because that is not true at all when I am up there I fish both areas sometimes one is better then the other, But that is the nice thing about Winoga is that Minnitaki is only 3 to 4 miles away and Sturgeon River is only about a mile or so away. And where he is talking down by Pickeral Arm he is a long way from any where, trust me I have fished this area religously and nowhere else. And if you need guideing just ask Dick he will go out of his way to make what you want to happen. I hope this helps

I have fished abrahms and minnitaki for years. You are only 7 miles from winoga to the mouth of english river. 30 minute boat ride. Very scenic. Sturgeon river is ok, at best. I love scenery and that alone feeling, so sturgeon doesnt cut it for me, but it leads to botsford which is a very quiet lake. Winoga is on an island, however, it is by no means isolated. Best of luck in whatever you choose on abrahms.

Master Angler, were you able to make it up the chutes from abrahms to minnitaki? I am going up there this weekend, and am hoping to be able to get my 18 ft alaskan with a 50 on the back up the chutes. Any info would be great. I will gladly share spots with you if you have any late fall spots. I can be reached at bsutter@elmhurst205.org
Thanks

I have been to Winoga 5 times. Twice in late May and 3 times in Mid Sept. In May we stayed pretty much on Abrams lake either at the mouth of Sturgeon River and below the chutes or in the river. One time we were there they were catching 24" walleye off their dock. Only tried Minnitaki once in the spring to try to catch lake trout. In the fall we spent most of our time on Minnitaki and it is not that far of a boat ride. Abrams didn't to seem to be as productive in the fall but you could still catch fish. It is a great place and Dick is one of the best outdoorsman I have met that run a camp. he must have got that from his Dad who bought the camp back in the 70's.
haven't gone the last few years but hope to get back next year.
