Any recommendations on buying a jig mold that closely resembles
the Timber Rock Jigs? What gauge wire would be best? Most of
my jigging occurs in and around timber over a shale bottom.
Parting ways with 20+ jigs a day is getting old and at $2.49
per 2 of the Timber Rocks... is a... little hard on the wallet.

Thanks.

I think they're identical to the Do-It crappie jig mold.
1/16th and 1/8th oz seem to be about right.
Mustad 3366 sproat hooks or Mustad 33903 kink shank hooks are what you'll need for the mold and they're fairly cheap.
Not sure what wire to use but I'd guess as long as it has at east 7 or 8 strands, it would be workable !

Actually, the wire is a hinderance for hook setting and you'd be much better off using the clear plastic "Stick-Guards" by "Laker".
A size medium would be perfect for the crappie jigs and they only cost $1.29 for 20 or so at your local tackle shop.
They work great !
