Does anyone have any information about Abram Lake or Lake Abram? Is the fishing decent? What species are present? What is the water clarity like? Is ice fishing any good? Thanks for any info!

I have fished there in the early spring & the 3rd week of Sept. It seemed to be much better in the spring. Once the water warms up the fish move into Lake Minnitaki. If you are staying on Lake Abram you have access to Minnintaki thru Abrams chute. We are heading up again this Sept and are looking forward to it.

Have been going up to the Lac Seul area for 30 years. If you are going that far there are dozens of places to fish in the area that are better locations. If interested in discussing further go ahead an email me at giometta4@msn.com

We have been going to Abram/Minitaki for over 30 years now, since it is so large there is a lot of movement on the lake, and as said in a previous reply, they do move to Minitaki, and you do have access by the chute. Be very careful in the chute, I have seen a lot of accidents there. We were last there in June. Limited out in 20 minutes! Now that is some good fishing. Used 4 rolls of film for 2 people of catch and release, of fish in the slot, and were only there for 5 days. Good luck and have a great trip.

Returned yesterday from three days of pure heaven. We too mostly fished Minnitaki, fished primarily 30+ feet and were continually into fish. Did fish Abram first evening as it was close to the resort and fished a shallower reef and resultant smaller fish. Most of the fish we caught on Minnitaki were slot or better, was actually harder to catch "keepers". need more info? jrems@worldnet.att.net or try www.winogalodge.com which was were we stayed

The species in that body of water are: Walleye, Lake Trout, Norhtern,Whitefish, Smallmouth, Perch, even sturgeon, Muskie, pretty much all of them except no panfish, The lake is a stained lake the clarity is about 5 to 7 feet. The ice fishing is good but, if you were with an outfitter you probably wouldn't fish abram throught the ice, you would be guided to minitaki for trout and walleys, along with several other lakes.
