I watched the FLW league finals last weekend, on the the tour they use FLW sponsor boats on the last day or two, what do they do for the league?
Use their own boats? If so what if they dont run a sponsored boat Ranger, G3
GOOD LUCK and THANK YOU, moreyes <'{{^}}<

You run your own boat and you are not eligible for sponser boat bonuses if you cash a check.
Actually

In the FLW Walleye Tour you use your own boat all four days, if you make it to the final day, at the qualifying events. You can't go on stage with anything but FLW Tour sponsored clothing, hats, etc. on the final day.
At least that's how it was this season.

Thats probably the only thing I dont really like about the FLW championship but O well. They really single you out if you dont have the right equiptment.

What do you mean Andy? Can you give an example? I can't say that I recall anyone being singled out if they didn't run the right equipment while we were at the championship.
Thanks,
Juls

Well I considered winning 60K instead of 100K being singled out. I not really complaining cuz I do have a ranger with a evrinude on it, I got the right equiptment. But when you own a Crestliner/Alumacraft/Lund or something else you dont get the top honors.
Its a great tournament for the money involved but it all has to be done FLW's way or else your not going to get paid in full.
Say What

Lets see if I understand what your trying to say. A person enters and knows the prize is $60,000 cash, but if he owns certain other products he can make more money all the way down. Your "RIGHT" the rest of the field is singled out "DAH". How do you figure that. The FLW pays the highest purse without the contingency money, and the lowest entry fee. Go try to find the payouts for all the other circuits and see which is the best.

Ok, first of all, the Championship was a base payout of 100K not 60K, and if an angler had contingency qualifications he/she could win UP TO 150K. 100K cash is still a huge chunk of change, and I'm sure it wouldn't be laughed at by anyone who's receiving the check.
What you don't seem to understand is, that it is NOT the FLW that offers the contingencies. The Sponsors offer them, because it's a very successful business plan that sells product for them. It also allows the up and comers who don't have the big contracts with these sponsors to be rewarded with bigger paybacks, allowing them to last a little longer in this business.

Yeah Sorry, I meant Tour but said championship. (Didn’t really care about the proof reading here)
So the people going in are offered more money if they have their right equipment. OK, don’t you think if these guys have an 80K boat and truck some might be able to afford the tour?
I would fish the tour if I had people pay me to go there or I had a lot of money to waste! I wouldn't jump right into it being broke and expect a payout each time; it just doesn’t work that way. If it does then why don’t you have any sponsors?
So then another question; Why doesn’t all these manufactures (Like Genmar? with Mercury and Skeeter etc, lots of others) want to be a FLW Sponsor offering more money for their pros? I know skeeter does their own program paying back boat owners but it’s not like the FLW Sponsors. If this Tour is the King #### of all other walleye Tour/Leagues why would their not be more manufactures involved?!
Why not be more user friendly? (So to speak) Its all FLW this and that, why not recognize the sponsors that bring the Pros there?

~Well, Ok, you're talking all over the place now, but I'll try to answer your questions.
"Yeah Sorry, I meant Tour but said championship. (Didn’t
really care about the proof reading here)"
~The thread was started by someone asking about the League Finals and their comparison to the FLW Walleye Tour Champioship. If you want to change the topic, start a new thread. Don't highjack their thread...it's less confusing that way.
"So the people going in are offered more money if they have
their right equipment. OK, don’t you think if these guys have
an 80K boat and truck some might be able to afford the tour?"
~So, what you're saying is, just because they can easily afford it, these guys should NOT be interested in a good return on their money spent? If you don't think this is a business, and all about the money, you're mistaken.
"I would fish the tour if I had people pay me to go there or I
had a lot of money to waste!"
~Really? No kidding.
"I wouldn't jump right into it being broke and expect a payout each time; it just doesn’t work that way."
~You're preaching to the choir. Everyone knows that.
"If it does then why don’t you have any sponsors?"
~Are you asking me that question, specifically? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and assume that was not your intention.
"So then another question; Why doesn’t all these manufactures
(Like Genmar? with Mercury and Skeeter etc, lots of others)
want to be a FLW Sponsor offering more money for their pros?"
~Ranger is a Genmar product. Skeeter was/is an associate sponsor of the FLW in 2006. Mercury was in with the FLW in the early years, but had first right of refusal when it came time to re-up contracts. They refused and left the door open for the other engine companies. That was their choice. Does that mean we will never see them with the FLW in the future? No, it doesn't...Anything can happen.
"I know skeeter does their own program paying back boat owners
but it’s not like the FLW Sponsors."
~What's your point exactly?
"If this Tour is the King#### of all other walleye Tour/Leagues why would their not be more manufactures involved?!"
~I can't answer for those companies. Maybe they like to compete against the FLW by backing other circuits. That's ok too, because that creates a little competition among the circuits themselves, and that helps keep the organizations moving in a forward direction every year. That can only be a good thing for the anglers fishing them.
"Why not be more user friendly? (So to speak) Its all FLW this
and that, why not recognize the sponsors that bring the Pros
there?"
~I'm really not sure what your asking with that question, Andy. Sorry.

Maybe Andy should come on out and fish the tour Pro or Co then he could voice his opinions one way or the other?? Just a thought.

Hi Juls, just wanted to say it was nice to finally meet you in person it's been awhile, I'm happy Marc brought Joe over to meet us too, man what a nice guy, very cool to have met the top FLW Ohio anglers, or some of you at least. Looking forward to next year, you guys do a great job putting on the event. Next year I might donate my PA system I used to DJ and have a nice setup with a top of the line wireless mic, it will work alot better then what has been used the last few years I have attended, everyone will be able to hear a bit better.

Nice to meet you too KGonefishin...;)
The speaker deal would be cool...plan on it, ok? If the one side of the hall's speakers had not been "out", it would have worked fine, but that's par for course it seems...there's always something to complicate things. lol
Thanks for your offer...we'll take you up on that for next year!

No problem my gear isn't going anywhere. I live close and I enjoy WC alot might as well pitch in something I can offer to help the cause. Plus I win something every year, time to give something back to the community.

Doh! My Bad...I was looking at a 2005 brochure. Not sure how that one got to the top of the pile on the desk, but somehow it did. lol
Thanks for the heads-up. I'll edit my post to reflect the right amounts for this year, which would be 100K to win and up to 150K with contingencies. ;)

Are you a big guy who was sitting with some other big guys and some lovely ladies on the side that was hard to hear in ? If so, I was sitting with my wife right next to you guys . Between you and Poohbears table anyways . If so I wish I could have met ya'll :). Name tags would go a long ways toward preventing the communication breakdown .
There's always next year !

Juls-
First off I never pinned anything on you to pick apart and answer; it was a general comment for people to think about. I wasn’t involving you, just voicing my opinion.
Some of the stuff I thought I was answering your questions but either they disappeared or I was thinking about it from a different forum. It doesn’t matter; all I know is that the FLW is a great paying tour and would be fun to fish. It just has some interesting rules to it also.
Oh, and when I said "you" in one of my statements. I wasn’t referring to you; I was referring to the reader of it. AKA everyone.
Instead of picking apart every sentence in my reply, it would have been easier to say "I don’t quite understand and agree with some of your comments." I would have understood and just shrugged it off, instead of wasting a 1/2 hour or whatever of your time to pick it apart and not answer much, and I wasn’t expecting you to either.
Ok, back to the topic, you’re the one who started a new track in asking "why?"
