Come on WC you knew I was good for one of these one time or another.
You know I have not had one run in with one of these NON CLEVELAND guys all fall long, until last night….Let me paint the picture for you…When a boat is pointing in one direction and keeping the same line to go down the wall, if you are flatlining that does not give you the right to just keep going and cut someone off at there bow, to the guy in the tan center console you suck at trolling and you totally got in my way and cut me off while going west down the high wall I had 2 boards on the wall side of my spread, learn how to troll or don’t fish here or get in line don’t force someone to stay away when it’s my line to begin with…. OKAY and this is not even the worst part about it…..you also took 4 hours at the ramp and you knew I was waiting to use the far right lane while coming it to dock, don’t just sit there and BS with your buddies when 3 lanes are being used and there was debris in the other two, get your boat out of the water and don’t make people wait until your good and ready to pull your boat. Next and worst part of the whole ordeal is…. you got your boat out of the water and you just pulled up far enough to clear the driveway for incoming boats trailers...PULL UP TO THE DUMPSTER to let other guys retrieve there boat your not the only one trying to get home.. You saw me struggling to get my truck and trailer straight to use the ramp….now the kicker YOUR BUDDY saw me having trouble without enough room and he said to you “pull up this guy needs room”. And what did I hear you say because I was up your &SS with my truck because I had no room and my window was down….I could hear the tone in your voice “ I’m not moving nowhere I am tying my boat up” That’s really cute dude…YOU INCONSIDERATE, POOR SPORTSMAN, BAD TROLLER, BAD DRIVER, IGNORANT HUMAN, STAY OUT OF THE CITY AND RAMP IF YOU DO NOT OBSERVE NORMAL RAMP AND TROLLING ETIQUITTE WITH OTHER FISHERMAN YOU DON”T BELONG. It took everything in my not to get out of my truck and verbally destroy you, or worse….. I hope you read this today and I hope your buddy who told you to pull up does also, I want them to know what a &*$#@&(& you are ….use your imagination.
I don’t even want to go down and fish tonight, I drove back home with my blood boiling. I do not care what people have to say about this so don’t even bother to respond, I can just hear it now, “if you don’t like it don’t fish” or something similar, guys like this should be better sportsman and boaters, I am not at fault one bit and just want to point out someone ignorance, and maybe just maybe they will treat other boats better next time while on the water or at the ramp, come on dude use some common sense. THIS IS MY POINT.
If you see me again stop by and say hello I would love to make your acquaintance.
Thank you and have a nice day.
As for fishing, yeah we caught some walleye, a 31, 29.5 25.5 and a 27.5 were the best fish. 40 back glass perch took 2 good ones and F18 silver 100 back took the other, the rest where smaller fish probably big 2003 I didn’t measure then.

Thanks for posting the last paragraph....the rest of your post was not a fishing report. If everybody posted about every jerk on and off the water we would crash the server.

Yeah we might burn up the server but being the hardcore fisherman that K is I know how he feels. The trolling deal is bad enough but the ramp even multiplies the whole deal. This kind of stuff happens often on our Ohio ramps. The less the number of ramps the worse the problem. Some of these boaters [and I use the word loosely] should try to do these stunts at one of state run Michigan ramps. This stuff just doesn't happen there because the the people that run the parks DON'T LET IT HAPPEN.Hey K,been reading your reports here and on OGF.Keep whacking man!!

Thanks Rebel I do enjoy posting some of my success but I am out whacking em more than I report just so I don't get a black eye on the web like some have, I had enough of that last year, I just like throwem out there once in awhile when there is a good bite that people know about. So many trips I whacked em in spots nobody would think at crazy times of year, you have to be in my cell phone to get those reports. Tight Lines and thanks for reading my Rant.

PM me I will give it to you, but we are done for the season, winter will pass and I will be back at it in March, steelhead fishing will just have to do. I might try ice fishing in the Western Basin this year probably do a guided trip, it has me curious.

Never happen in Michigan?
You ever been to Erie Metro, Elizabeth, St. Clair's Metrobeach and the state ramp near monroe? Even the one's with "patorls" are a mess. Most often, the "cop" has less intelligence than the offender at the ramp. If I had a dollar for every time I was held up at the ramp in Ohio and MICHIGAN...I wouldn't worry about boat gas money.
K Gonefishin
11-30-2006, 09:55 AM
I do see problems at the ramp often most cases it's just some guy that doesn't load or unload boat to often....so he stinks at it ohh well and that doesn't bother me, he is just going boating or fishing, but this guy will move his rig and tie up elsewhere, this guy was being so blatant about it I wanted to puke he purposely stayed right where he was at as if I did something wrong.
I saw him last night, I was in my buddies boat I didn't bring mine but he was right next to my truck by the time I walked through the parking lot he was outtta there. I still wasn't going to say anything it was my last trip on the lake till spring I just wanted to take it all in coming to the realization I will not be back at the ramp for months, we all hailed to Lake Erie before we left said it's been the best year ever for eye fishing and drove home with a certain feeling that only happens this time of year, sorrow I guess.
KGone i like how you think you are the best late fall night-bite fisherman in the world. You know other people catch them just as well if not better than you. Geez
K Gonefishin
11-30-2006, 11:33 AM
Geez....HUH...Dude what are you talking about? First of all we are talking about some guy that was purposely iggnorant at the ramp. Fishcrazy, Virgil and Scott IMO are the best out there, I know other night guys that almost always do better than me or the same, Al, Brian, Russ, Yokal,Tommy, Peerless, Jack, Shaun, Steve, and many others, believe me I know guys who really really know how to whack fish and they do it consitantly all the time in Cleveland or out West... I do pretty okay out there I never said anything about how good I was or how I am the best that is INSANE to even say that not even anything close to it, I did say I always don't report when I do whack them etc, yeah I do from time to time but other guys are doing it also..I am humble about how many fish I put in the boat, I got on the radio last night and when asked how I am doing I said not good I had 5 fish to Virgil's 14 fish.... and we/I do catch more night bite fish than alot of guys and lots of boats do better than me, who cares it just fishing anyways and you wouldn't even know...you probably never talked to me, and I really don't put all that many reports on here anymore, because of all the compaining ladies like you.
I don't know exactly what your trying to say here but come out with it and better yet register on WC so the world knows who the trash talkers are talking about other fisherman, worse yet assuming....but that's what people do, sit in there own little delusional world and assume and take shots and say what's on there mind nobody asked you a think unless you have some fishing reports to add to this site or help or good opinions why are you even bothering....just trying to get a rise out of someone. That's great dude, got words for me or want to discuss something about me than pm or email me and let me have it I have nothing to hide that's why I post alot on this site, with my screen name not WWW. Let's roll man.......

Hey K Gone, the best way to deal with this jerks is to ignore them. I've been dealing with this for so long, and believe me, you ignore them and they go away. And about the posts, POST THEM DUDE! you go out there bust you chops, and get better at it every time!.It's your catch, and it's your right to post, just do it. I enjoy putting people on fish, so my game is numbers. I run a minimum of 8 rods depending on the number of people I have, so it's only normal I get more fish. Knowing you, you'd be happier with 3 10+ lbs. in the box then with 10 eaters. So do your thing, you're good at it, you spend your time and your money to get it done, just piss on them all who don't like it, enjoy and have your fun. KEEP ON POSTING, DRIVE THEM NUTS,and take pictures! Information is the key, about fishing and navigation. Hope you'll keep on rolling in December.
Tight Lines.

So, K gonefishin, when you and another guy are heading to the same spot trolling who gives way? I'm assuming its NOT you and you expect everyone else to get out of your way??
Yes but its not that difficult to run hj14s 15-45 behind the boards at 1.2-2.0 is all im saying. I just dont understand why people post a book everytime they go out. lets get more boats bc you have to boast about your exploits!
K Gonefishin
11-30-2006, 01:08 PM
IMO fish are all over, I actually stay out of traffic, I steer my boat with a handheld button Electro Steer so I am always in the back of my boat facing the back I don't really know what's in front of me alot of the time, if you read the beginning of the thread when I had my line and he was coming at me, I let him take it, I could have sped up and cut him off at the bow, that's not my style, when I first started doing the night bite I used to fight for position now I don't it's not worth losing a board that I got 40 bucks into plus a 5-7 dollar lure and all the line I could stretch and ruin, it would just waste valuable fishing time I work 50 plus hours per week and consider what time I have on the water very valuable a 20 minute tangle with some yahoo can be 2-4 more in the box if they are fireing good.
By the way dude there is alot more to night fishing than throwing out some Hj's and putting them on boards, the difference is what makes a GREAT night time angler versus a GOOD night time angler. I do run them but they aren't the only thing in the arsonal that works this fall I ran and caught more fish on thundersticks, bombers, x-raps, and F18's and even F13 floaters.
Yeah Virgil your right, this is someowhat comical we all know each other and we are always on the same page these other guys don't have a clue. Ohh well. Let's keep trucking like we do every fall.
In my boat and my buddies boat we only run 6 max lately only 4 plus a flatline if that, all the nights I limited the past couple week they came on 4 lines, I do not fish as long as alot of guys either if I put in 6-8 hours I would catch allot more, I fish 3-4 or less and go home, I live close so If I go out and get 10-18 fish, that's good enough for me, when it's day trip or out west I put the grind on them till I limit, I have limited every trip I have done out west and caught some steelies and smallmouth too. Yes I am getting better, and for the people that don't know I am only 27...just wait till I am 30-32, ITS ON. I haven't even had 1 full year in a fully rigged all over the lake capable boat, I was limited in my little boat I just sold... I'm just getting started...WOOO HOOOO.
Take care Virg, over winter we all should hook up and go out to Cabelas or Bass Pro then have some drinks locally and BS and talk about the year.

K Gone,
When enemies criticize you, don't answer them, be silent. It will confuse them.
Keep up the nice fishing reports.

I will continue to forge ahead, what I don't understand is why have they become enemies??? This is what kills me I would really love to know what is going through someone's head when they type a derogatory post on this site in reference to something I typed, I would die to know, being in sales I over analyze stupid things, but you know what...it keeps me on my toes and makes me a better man overall and believe it or not a better fisherman. You won't see me doing the same thing over and over again that isn't working on the water, I have tons of cranks and I use them all, all shapes colors and sizes, it keeps the net wet, that's the way I like it. Gotta love it.

KGone---You have stated very eloquently what I and many others have been feeling/thinking for a long time. I'm glad to hear that I am not the only one that is astounded by the lack of common sense in some of our fellow fisherman. i.e.---ramp courtesy, trolling etiquette, etc. Not to mention that when you put some people behind a keyboard they seem to turn into God.
My dad and I benefitted greatly from your free exchange of information last Friday out of Huron. After you shared your coordinates Dad and I pulled lines and joined the fun. We had a 7 lber after a couple of minutes, but had to slide out to 40 feet to complete our limit. Would have thanked you over the marine radio, but I was unable to broadcast. So, THANK YOU !!! Dad and went on to limit out Saturday and Sunday also. Sunday we pulled 'em in 24 feet of water in front of Cranberrry Creek. (Back 50 on Reef Runners.) We responded to a request for a location on a good bite and had a couple of guys pull up as we were finishing our limit. Hopefully they got their fish.
P.S. I am glad to here that the whiners are not getting to you!

5 Stroke, You are very welcome I am glad you got your fish and I was able to help.... as I stated in an earlier post, I had a solid program and a solid spot with sick marks up high as soon as I stopped the boat on a hunch on those number, as soon as lines where set they started going for us. I didn't have to switch a thing it worked flawlessly. I feel that this late in the season with the amount of guys left on the water (walley boats and walleye fisherman) why hog a spot on such a great nice calm day on Erie in November. I knew the armada was on there and I didn't care I just like helping guys catch fish and hopefully when I am stuggeling I get that favor returned, I planted a seed for next year that's all.
Fishing was too good for us not to tell other guys that it was going good for us, I knew 4 other boats on the water that had 1 or none and I had 6 right away and they kept coming, so I wanted to tell those guys and said #### with dropping down or going to cell this one's public why not right???
I thought I hope some guys from Indiana or Michigan where fishing in the area, I just thought someone just might go home happy from me thrown out my numbers and program. Boatnut and some guys on OGF thanked me for the hook up and now you... that's a great feeling.
Catch me on the radio give me shout.

Maybe its the tone of your words. Just obverving from a long ways away.
"YOU INCONSIDERATE, POOR SPORTSMAN, BAD TROLLER, BAD DRIVER, IGNORANT HUMAN, STAY OUT OF THE CITY AND RAMP IF YOU DO NOT OBSERVE NORMAL RAMP AND TROLLING ETIQUITTE WITH OTHER FISHERMAN YOU DON”T BELONG. It took everything in my not to get out of my truck and verbally destroy you, or worse….. I hope you read this today and I hope your buddy who told you to pull up does also, I want them to know what a &*$#@&(& you are ….use your imagination."
If he was to my right, I would stall the boards and give way, especially if a red light is visible on the bow, then pour another cup of coffee and wait for him to leave my LOS. Stuff like this happens even at the Pro ranks. Its only fishing and letting this get under your skin is the worst thing. Whys that, It will affect your ability to make good decisions. Gluck, be safe and throw one back for me.

Point taken, I vented here because it has been a topic of conversation on the Cleveland bite, I did it here so I didn't make a bad decision at the ramp and I didn't, I just let it go and said he's not worth it It wasn't as much as the trolling that made me mad novice trollers are people we run into often I can just steer the other way... it was the thing at the ramp, his buddy even said dude move your truck so this guy can retrieve, I have never in my life in the 25 years of fishing with my father all over Ohio and the past 6 years doing it on my own never ran into someone so iggnorant, and I fish 2-4 days per week during the season. That's allot of ramp time in and out. That's up to 100 times at the ramp per season, so what in my life I have been at the launch 2500 times, and some dude is going to act like he owns the 72nd street ramp. I thought it warrented a Rant. Sorry my words are a little harsh, at the same time truthfull and from the gut. I even saw him again yesterday, he was right next to my truck I ingored him, once again making a good decision. When I make a bad one someone crusify me I will deserve it, but knowing me and my fishing friends I doubt it's going to happen I have to much going for me to get into with some hillbilly at the ramp.

I will say this again this year as I have in the past. I have had more close encounters with the local Cleveland guys than others. I dont want to get into the Green/White Marinette drifting INTO my boat 2x while I was anchored out of 72nd perching, he later tangled his anchor with mine, the owner of Shines also drifted into us twice in one day as we were anchored. When I say drifted into us we had to literally push these boats off of us. Not going to rehash old stuff again but the locals have their hands in it also.

Stick around Kgone, I guarantee you will see worse and it will probably say "up yours" on the transom.
Fishing is no different than life in general. Got good, got bad, and you got a whole lot of in betweens.

For a minute there, I was going to post something like: "maybe the guy that was in your way was doing it for the first time..."
Then I read further down that he was messin' with you. That's BS.
Anyway...we heard you on the radio on Saturday out of Huron. Didn't follow up with your #'s, but we hit some fish where we were anyway.
It's a big lake....don't be like the salmon guys in September...it's just not pretty.

Come on Marc, bring a camera with you, you can be my camera guy, the young guy with the shiny boat and truck draws bad attention everywhere I go, it's the nature of the beast I guess. Ohh well, it would be funny to tape someone being a jerk off on the water or at the ramp, then put it on YouTube and put links on every fishing site on the web... like a Carl Monday for fisherman LOL.

That was said tongue in cheek. Maybe you consider slobering old men dock cops. Sorry about my bent against Michigan parks...but I'm not fond of their Game Officers or park rangers. I've never had a single citation....so I say this from that perspective. They are clowns in that Erie to Detroit River corridor....the Dock cops and the officers.

Yeah I know...it's call Jealously... Call me Crazy, they see a young guy who just happens to make a great living and has a very nice Ranger and a fancy truck with big chrome wheels the first thing they think is Punk, I get looks from guys all the time, the best way to defuse the bomb is to walk up to them and start to chit chat and make friends I try to talk to everyone I see at the ramp and I almost always see them again one time or another and they remember me as a "good guy" I like to meet as many guys as I can when out fishing, it's the best way to network, get numbers and reports, etc. It's the older middle age guy who hates his wife and kids who tries to get out and go fishing once in awhile, while out something broke on his boat or something isn’t working, in a bad mood, is drunk, or broke, or sees me taking pictures at the ramp holding up hogs and sees the whole cooler spilling over and he only caught 2 little fish.. these are the guys who have a problem with me....until they meet me, I am a very nice guy and anyone who knows me will say I am a stand up guy, good fisherman, good friend with a good head on his shoulders. Why do you think all the guys that do know me are telling me your a better man ignore these retards? Coincidence I don't think so.
People are just haters, that's all it is I have learned to deal with it. You know what's weird when I was cruising around in my little 16 footer, with a little tiller motor people where way more friendly towrard me and Frank, now it's brow beating looks, HATERS...It's not even up for debate it's the reason why.
Who is it that has a few years on Marc that knows me and Frank, Bill?? , if it's Bill thank you for the comments and take care of yourself, and thanks once again....
