Jim McCullough 09-26-2001, 07:30 AM I know change is hard. The old format was very comfortable and real easy to get around on. Unfortunately, the reason it was so comfortable, was that it had no features to it. This new format is leagues ahead of the other one. How about being able to post a picture of the fish you caught yesterday or the modification you did on your 10" Jake? Or if you are a guide or have a webpage, being able to post a clickable link automatically in your signature line everytime you post. How about if you want to buy a new boat, or a new fishing pole, and you want to get everyone's opinion on different brands. Now you can list all of the different brands you are looking at and take a pole of the membership. These are only a few of the cool new features of this site. Do yourself a favor and click on the FAQ icon (Frequently Asked Questions) and read up on the new features and how to use them. It answers a ton of questions from how to register, to how to not show your email, to how to post a picture. This will take a while to get used to, but trust me, in a month or two, you will be singing it's praises and wonder how we got along without all of the features. Take some time and explore, and WELCOME to the new and improved Muskie Central!:)

Green Meanie 09-26-2001, 07:36 AM Where is the user menu?
Jim McCullough 09-26-2001, 07:45 AM GM,
If you are on the Discussion Topics page, (Where all of the topics are listed) directly above it, is a row of icons. The User Menu icon is between the Poll icon and the Profile icon.

I may be an idiot, but I only see like 4 icons and none of them are the ones that you mention. I am probably just confused, it happens alot.
Thanks,
Scott

Jim McCullough 09-26-2001, 08:12 AM Scott,
First off, you are not an idiot. This is new to all of us. I had to go out and find it after I read your question. I think what you are doing is looking at the top of your individual post. There are only four icons there. You need to be on the page that lists all of the different topics you can click on. Immediately above the first topic that is listed, there is a maroon bar. Look directly above the maroon bar and you will see the row of icons and their names. User Menu is between Poll and Profile. I hope this helps. It is hard to explain things over the internet. :)

unregistered 09-26-2001, 09:04 AM Jim,yet another question,You said if you register the site will remember you automatically so...Does this mean if you register under a name you can never post a question or response as an unregistered user under another name?
Go Bears 09-26-2001, 09:10 AM Yes, Goofing off will be even easier. Who am I?
Jim McCullough 09-26-2001, 02:10 PM unregistered dude,
You decide if you want the site to remember you. If you want to be anonymous, you can go to the preferences section and click that you don't want the site to remember you.

Jim,
Just thought I'd let you know this is a great format. It will probobly take me awhile to get used to it- but it sure has alot more features. The poll thing is awesome. Now I just have to catch a really fat fall pig to show everyone.
Take Care,
Bryan
Ballistic 09-27-2001, 07:43 PM I am not lost, but I read this anyway. My son saw a good one this week, Jim. Probably a Booner. Guess what I will be doing next week?

Me thinks you are going to be "casting your lures" from high atop a tree. Good luck Steve and let us know if you "Hook into" that Booner. Do you plan on practicing Catch & Release or will it be Catch & Cook? (With mushrooms and onion...mmmm)
