Instigator,

Before you buy, contact Richard at http://www.rodreel.com/

He has a line called Super Cast. It comes off the SAME spools as Power Pro. They were once the same company "Western Fliament". His email is on the site I listed above. It's the same line at a cheaper price! I have used both Power Pro and Super Cast for 2 years and there is SOOOOOOOO little difference if ANY other than color. Talk to Richard, he'll tell you the story behind the 2 lines and direct you accordingly. Give him a yell, trust me, you won't be dis-appointed!

Instigator..I've been using the 30# PowerPro for pulling boards and dipsys for three years. Great stuff! The 300 yd. spool fills a Diawa 27 perfectly..with a wrap of surgical tape on the spool first! I know most guys use a mono backer with less line on top, but I don't like knots! Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)

I use power pro on spinning set ups and its a great line, strong as all get out for the diameter (but thats why we use it isn't it?). Well my only gripe besides not being able to use it in extremely cold weather (retains mositure and freezes, not fun) is that it knots up easier then mono or fireline. But the shape and composition of teh line makes picking birds nests fairly easy. Good line, not making extra switches from fireline but I'll keep using it thats for sure.

Ditto,
Supercast is all I use. 15# is my fav. Superior to all others. I've been using Tuff Line for years and years on the Muskie side of things.

Kevin, I disagree that Power Pro "birds nests" more than mono. Memory is what causes alot of those messes and Power Pro and Fireline has little to none compared to mono. What type of reel are you using?

Its a spinning intrepid from shakespear, no problems with fireline or mono. Again I still use it its just a personal observation I have made, its still a great line.

must be your reel or you dont have the line spooled on right. I never have got a birds nest in my reel once.
