Am looking forward to getting into musky fishing. would like any suggestions on what would be good rod and reel combos for price range of around $70.00 a piece (or possibly less). Was thinking about Shimano baitcaster (Corsair?) and Cortland rod? Also any suggestions on what works best for rod lengths and actions would be awesome. Thanx
hmmm....get a 6500 c3 by abu garcia if u are left hand get a 6501 c3.hmmm....as for a rod u aren't gonna get one for 70 bucks even a cheapie....i would reccomend a 6'9 st. croix. or a 7 foot one in the premiere series...ifu don't wanna pay the 130 for a new one go to the swap board and someone will sell u one for 75.$

You could get a nice C3 or C4 for about $80.
Then you could also get any one of the Rizzo rods for less then $50.
Bass Pro makes a nice Pete Mania Combo for about $130.
Rods and reels are a presonel thing.
Everyone likes something a little different.
I have Rizzos, Fenwicks, Gander Mountians, St. Croix, and a few others and they all do different things when I need them to.
Expensive yes, it can be, as is it all when you really get into this sport.
Lures, Leaders, Line, and all the other fun stuff you will NEED to have to be in the club!
Look for deals on the BEST products you can find.
It will pay off in the long run and it is fun way to past the time in the LONG winter ahead.
But find what fits your style and budget and hit the water and have some fun.
