can't get'em to bite

hey all I was fishin today with my friend and we raised 4 fish around 40" but we couldnt' get any of them to hit. we raised each fish at least twice and they would follow the figure 8 but they just wouldnt' hit is there a trick or were they just not biting??

Could be they're just looking. Did you try a throw-back lure? Sometimes it works to pull the bait out of the water and then slam it back in right in front of the Muskies face. Another thing to try is to suddenly jam the lure straight back under the boat while figure-8ing.

But much of the time they just like to follow and take a look and theres nothing one can do about it. They're out swimming along and are just getting a good luck at yet another lure. Its like the fish are thinking: "Hmmmmm. That one is a little different than the other thousand lures I've seen this summer."

But just seeing them makes a person want to go back, eh? Good luck.

A lot of people throw change up lures after a follow if they don't get a bite after the follow. The skie must me interested just enough to follow the lure but not bite it. This is where a change up lure comes in place. If you get a follow off of a bucktail try a crankbait or jerkbait or something different. Probaly something with a lot of action.
