View Full Version : NW Wisconsin Turnover Timing
I've been out of the game for a couple of weeks. How close are we to turnover in NW Wisconsin? How about the TC Metro?
Thanks,

Most lakes in Northern WI are turned over, or in the process. Very cool nights this week got it done.

WB was 60 and very clear today. I'd guess turnover is still more than a week away, depending on the weather.

Water temperatures in northern Vilas County are running between 55 and 57 degrees this past weekend, depending on size of lake, clear water or dark water. Turnover is occurring now on those lakes that develop a seasonal thermocline.
NW WI surface temp was 60 this weekend. Turn looks like it's just getting underway to me.

Lake Namakagon was right in the middle of turnover this past week end and LCO is getting ready to go soon. I imagine it will be right in the middle of it this week end for the MI tourney.
If it's turning this weekend, what strategy would you employ? I'm not in the tourney but invited my father-in-law up for the weekend. I'd like to get him some action if possible, especially if it's going to me miserably cold as predicted.
Thanks,
hogy
