Guys,

I'm in the very early stages of shopping for a boat (this will be my first boat).

Part of the frustrating thing is that most of the websites don't have MSRP's listed for their boats, so I have no idea what is in my price range.

Can you guys with Ranger boats post what the MSRPs are for the boats you bought for Musky Fishing? Thanks.

Hi,
I have a Ranger R72 which is 17' long with a 115 hp motor. That sells new for about $18,000.
The R83, which is 18' long with either a 150 or 175 hp motor will run around $22-23,000.
You may want to look around for a used one. They're out there and less that the prices I've mentioned. They're fantastic boats.

MstrMusky,

One thing I can also recommend, get the name of your nearest Ranger dealer from the Ranger Boats web site. Then, go there later in the day on a weekday, or on the weekend.

Try to get them at slow time. Maybe call ahead and see what days and times are generally slow this time of year. Then go in there and talk with a salesman.

Make sure you let them know you are in the early stages of decideng and are in no way going to buy that day. Then get basic prices of the model(s) you are interested in.

It is a very enlightening experience to be able to sit down and talk about the boats. You can also help hone in your idea of which rig is for you.

By calling ahead and not tying up a salesman during the busy time of the day, you will have made a good relationship start with the dealership.
