54 inch muskie with 26 inch girth. lake Mille Lacs was caught and released last sat morning on the big lake by friend of mine. Was wondering what you guys thought it might weight. 26 inch girth was from head to tail the same thickness all the way.

Wow what an impressive fish.. should be around 49 to 50lbs.

Great Fish. Standard formula (L x W x W / 700) puts it at 52 lbs. But that's very approximate and I've certainly never seen one that big in person.

Hey I was just guessing.. came close too.. It might depend on the muskies last meal.

Steve Cady's 52x23 was around 44lbs on the formula if I remember right.

Using the formula divided by 800, it comes out to just under 46 pounds. Impressive fish anywhere!

A big congratulations to the lucky angler! That is a massive fish. And what a sportman on releasing it too! Is he going to post some pictures somewhere or send a photo to Muskie Hunter? I would love to see a picture of that fish.

Did you guys call KFAN right after you caught it? My brother said he heard someone call KFAN from Mille Lacs while they were still on the water. They said they had just caught a 54 inch Muskie.
