At what water temp. does a lake start to turnover? Also what depth does a lake have to be to have a turnover?
thanks Bill

I believe tha lakes turn over around 55 degrees F. Waters less than 20 feet deep and rivers don't experience turnover.

I find it rather difficult to believe that a lake/body of water will stratifie in less that 35/40 feet of water. On turnoever there was last year one of the best explanations of stratification that I have ever read, however I can not recall who made the post. I think it was one of the regulars on this forum and if he/she might read this I myself would like to be refreshed and I certainly would print the explantion so that I might have it for reference.

Thanks.................BJ :)
