Looks like a Nasty cold front is coming through Northern WI this weekend. High temps for Saturday are projected to be 39 degrees with flurries. Naturally, I will be out fishing the Minocqua area. Any thoughts as to what tactics will be successful (other than staying warm in the local tavern)?

I guess you don’t want to hear my answer. Maybe a tavern on the water so that you can see your bobber.

Glad the cold weather is coming. I would rather freeze than sweat my butt off on the water. Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to get out there this fall to freeze and get a chance at a nice musky this fall. Maybe next fall, God willing.

The post on LOTW gives a pattern, sounds like casting rock shoreline--might still be too early to troll the breakline, but maybe not ! Try both. I will be in NWA?LOTW in 11 days, will be doing both patterns

Whew!
It was cold fishing on Saturday morning (25 degrees here in central MN) but the fishing warmed me up a bit. Caught 4 Muskies on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.
All were smaller fish from 34"-38". I also lost two fish on Sat. one was a real horse. Never seen her, set the hook and she headed deep, never could stop her or turn her. Then massive headshakes and she was gone. Sure would have liked to catch a glimpse of her.
Two guys walleye fishing the area lost two muskies on jigs and fatheads. I tried some creatures, but no dice. Fish came mostly on reefhawgs and spinnerbaits. All were in the deeper cabbage on the breaklines. 10'-12' was the magic depth with the water temp at 52 degrees.
Good Luck All,

The water temps crashed into the mid to
low 40's in some of the dark water bays
over the weekend. The main lake areas were in the low 50's, we also had about an inch of snow in the boat saturday!
The bite was slow at best...I did see a
couple of fish in the afternoon. High
winds and snow squals made it very very
uncomfortable...Sunday was very nice, I
unfortunately was watching the Queens!
