As I had already stated, the flag that comes with the original off-shore planer kit is the same one in the tattle-tale kit. I was able to buy the planer kits at less than $20 each at Dick's sporting goods. Here are the other pieces I used to supplement the tattle-tale kit. (1) 1/4" nylon spacer to be used between the board and flag. (1) C-73 spring. (1) 9" 19 gauge wire to be hooked up to the flag and release clip. (1) 5 mm plastic bead to be used as a stop between the release clip and screw eye. (1) 3/4" machine screw for the nylon spacer and tattle-flag. (2) size 214 screw eyes. One screw eye is to be used on the back side of the board to run the wire through to the release clip. The other screw eye I use in the original position to hook up a short piece of line with snap swivel so that I can clip to the fishing line so the board will not be loss in the event of a strike. You also need to drill (3) 1/16" holes in the board adjacent to the grooves so that the spring can be attached. As you can see, all these materials can be purchased for less than a few dollars.
