Keeping true to form, I have to be honest that porn is my #1 attention getter on the web!

Well Slamr, nice to know some things never change.

BTW, what happened to MHM board?? They do still exist. Nowadays I spend my time MuskieFirst, and then MC and MHM are nearly in a dead heat. This was my number 1 place until the new format was started, I just don't like it. It's not familiar and I'm too old and cranky to change fast. I still like the format of MHM the best as far as the website. Not fond of the change here. Yes, it is much more versatile but there is something to be said for familiar things.

My worthless input anyway,

i really used to love muskiefirst until some muskie fanatic posted a link to a photo of himself un-clothed while holding the world record mint-green-strain muskie... i have been in therapy due to the traumatization for the last few days because of it... maybe that photo is why the site is down right now:)

Those who watch porn and those who lie about it.

We know which one Slamr is!

I am on muskie central, muskiefirst, musky hunter and lake-link almost every day. Overall I have over 1300 posts on muskiecentral and it's a day to day tie with muskiefirst since it's startup. I post a little less often on lake-link and occasionally on musky hunter.

Anybody have any ideas why musky hunter does not get the traffic the other two do? I notice the same questions that get posted here with alot of replies draw nothing over there. Any thoughts?

Ok, guys I made my own website but it has nothing to do with porn. It is funny tho. It's just for Halloween. Http://www.angelfire.com/mn2/Jbrjahs/home.htm

May they always bite at the mouth.

Come on Zach...we just like to commune with nature her in Montana. You midwest kind of guys seem to be hung up on wearing prodigous amounts of clothes when you fish. I will admit it's kind of hard to tuck your bolt cutters anywhere on your person undressed like that.

I'd hate to think I was responsible for MuskieFirst going down.....

ToddM...that's a great question about MHM. When I started on these boards about a year ago they got as much traffic as MC. My honest opinion is it's still a fallout from the whole CFMS fiasco. If you look at their traffic numbers when all this crap was going on with the CFMS, MHM still kind of stood behind the whole thing. At least they didn't come out and debunk it like everyone else. Since they printed it I think it was very difficult for them to say much and it hurt them dearly. They haven't had the internet traffic since.

Another one I have heard from others (because I have not been in the musky scene long and don't know the histories, political correctness, etc of you guys back in the thick of muskydom) is that the core of professionals committed to MHM board have a bit of a standoffish (read arrogant) attitude at times and they can be very harsh if they feel someone has stepped out of their lines.

I don't mean to raise any hackles on this and would love to entertain more discussion from people who know more than me. Let's have it boys!!

Brian:
Please give fair warning as to where you'll be fishing next in Montana. If you're buck nekkid out on some Montana lake, I'm pretty sure I'll be heading my boat elsewhere. With treble hooks involved, your situation is plumb scary. -- mark

I'm thinking muskie central may have been the most popular had I not offered you guys the "porn" or "other" options. ????

I am really confused about musky hunter. I posted a message questioning the reality of a muskie some guy caught. Next thing I know, people are jumping down my throat saying I'm an idiot and that I'm jealous. I defended myself and brought all the facts to the table about the fish. What happens, they pull the thread because one of their editors apparently had some information that conflicted with the guy who actually caught the fish.
Oh well. I'll be visiting this site much more!!!!!

JTB,

The reason MHM pulled that thread is because of all the bashing that was going on. Not only about the person that caught the fish, but to anyone that posted their opinion on the matter, yourself included. It was getting out of hand. A lot of that tends to go on at these boards, it seems more so on MHM, for whatever the reason.

That's one of the reasons Pete Maina (while he was still with MHM) and many other well known pros quit showing up. They'd share their opinion and would get bashed for their beliefs. Most of these boards have lost a lot of people that could provide people with a lot of great information, people with many years of experience on the water. If we all respect that each person is entitled to their own opinion, we'd get a lot more "pro" insite on these boards. We don't have to agree with their opinion, but let them share what they think. It can only be beneficial to the purpose of these boards, and that's to help us all become better musky fishermen.

JTB...it was getting a bit ugly so Steve pulled the thread. Things tend to get a little wilder over on the MHM board...that's why I like to wander through no and then. You know a similar thread about the Beltz fish on MuskieFirst never got rancourous or nasty. Just a different "flavor" between MF and MC and what goes on at MHM. We tend to be "nicer" over here, or something like that.

If they can produce the negatives for that pic I might believe it but I better not go there...... ;). I question that fish from several perspectives....not the lest of which is the fisherman is a printer (and I'm sure has access to great computer gear) and the guide was a personal friend of his. A little free publicity for all. Look at Geoff Slater's fish just posted over there.....a gorgeous fish and just no questioning of the photo. Go take a peek--it's a beauty.

MF needs to get back up soon or I am going to disown Steve, Jason and Zach!! ;)

I really like MuskieCentral and MuskyHunter. Didn't even know about the Muskiefirst site, so will have to check that out.

MuskyHunter gets a little wild once in awhile with opinions, but hey, isn't that's what makes America great...that we have freedom of speech, even if some people get a little crazy once in awhile, it is still our right.

I am still getting used to this board's new format, like it for the most part, kind of miss the old format though too, because I was accostomed to it.

Isn't it great that there are musky sites for us to frequent when we can't be out on the water?!?

I check out all the sites, MH, MC, Lake-links and of couse MuskieFirst where I am then Managing editor. I think its great that the muskie world can get a choice and learn from a bunch of sites. I spent a year and a half building MC and learned a lot from it. MF is just the start of the ourdoorFIRST.com network, so lots of learning to come in the future for you guys. I am glad this site updated there message board, its a fresh new look.

The internet is the furture in learning.
