Has anyone tried these? They look like a great idea,..(even a small amt of Carbon dioxide isn't exactly good for you) I haven't actually talked to anyone that used one.
After I posted that,..I picked up my newspaper and a piece is talking about CO. On Ave. each year 5,000 people in the US die of it,..20,000 injured,..if you have even low amts of CO today,...tomorrow you might feel like you have the flu. (or at least a cold) This is just one reaction,..very low levels of CO and you don't feel much of anything but you might just be a bit dumber as brain cells start dying off rapidly,..
I know I got a couple for my house and it has gone off because of baking (gas) and even on very foggy days when drafts are not good,..(made me improve the stove,)..but I would not have known it was a problem w/o a detector,..I understand Chicago and a few other cites now require one,..the story also had reference to most dying because an attached garage had a car running as it was being unloaded,..apparently the unloader passed out and the gas seeped into the rest of the apts,..the survivors said they felt no warning of tiredness etc,..they just passed out (very rapidly) I also have one in my shed,...the "Kerosun" will make it go off after a short time unless I crack a window open,.
