I am trying to find horse hair jigs(lead head with hair tied on the shank) in a variety of colors and 1/4 ounce. If anyone has information to help me locate them it would be appreciated.

Thanks and LOL

Hey TA. Is there a big difference between horsehair and bucktail? Maybe stiffness?
Thanks,

The horse hair is a little bit stiffer than a bucktail jig. Maybe that is what I am looking for. I fished with this style jig last weekend and my buddy kept calling them horse hair. Maybe they were just bucktail jigs. Do you know where to get them or maybe just the components to make some (hair, tinsel, and plain jig heads)?

Any info would be great.

I just picked up some at the local bass pro shop in Fridley MN. I asked if they were tied locally, but he didn't have an immediate answer. They have nice sharp hooks, and an excellent design. Some with horse hair and some with chicken feathers. When you are rip jigging, the jigs made of chicken feathers seem to hold up very well and catch lots of fish.

Take care

Thanks for the info. I will have to go over and check them out. I did find all of the components a person needs to make them at Gander MT in the fly fishing department. Might be a fun endeavor for those cold winter days.

Thanks again
