View Full Version : New messages to original posts on this board - How many times do you usually have to hit refresh for them to come up (if they aren't all there when you pull up the thread)?

If I understand your question correctly - I believe it depends heavily on how many people post during the time you are on a specific page, and also how long you are connected to a specific page or site.
There is a big difference between 2 people posting or 15 people posting while you are on a page over the course of 15 minutes -
Or 10+ people posting over the course of an entire evening session.
If I am on the topic listing of an active board during a busy time and looking for other peoples responses to a specific question - I may refresh every 5 or 10 minutes, but I typically never refresh at all.

I checked into this with Scott and he assured me that the board is working perfectly. That means that it is probably on your guys' end.

Here's what I was getting at with my question. On the main page where the topics are listed, it also shows the number of replies to that topic. Let's say I check the board and there's 5 replies. A couple hours later I will check back and there might be 8. But when I click on that topic and go to the resplies, it will likely still only show those 5 for me. Once in awhile if I hit refresh once or twice, the new ones will show up. But most of the time I can be hitting refresh for 10 or more times before they come up, if they come up at all.
I've discussed this problem with Jim on another thread. And as he said, it's probably just a problem on my end, which is kind of what I was thinking. This is something that has just started happening to me in the last week though, so just wanted to get some more input from other board users.

I have the same problem but I don't mind too much. Usually I check it out again the next day.

I can't say I have noticed that specific issue. Generally, I am now used to this new board format, and really like it...
