I would probably stay away from any bass flippin' stick because they are not built to handle bigger baits, even 2.5 oz. That said, I would probably get a St. Croix Premier or Avid Series 6'9" Heavy action rod (if you are into using longer rods for tossing jerkbaits). The Premier Series usually runs around $120 and the Avid Series around $200. Just my opinion and I hope I was of some help.

There's no reason why you can't use a flippin stick for lighter weight lures. I do it all the time.
If you'd like, contact me via my website and we can discuss a rod custom tailored to your needs.

My only concern with a flipping stick is if it will be heavy enough to handle working a jerkbait. It it does not have a ton of drag it may be ok. Good luck.

I use a flippin stick for working Undertakers, Bobbies and Squirrely Burts, they've been working just fine so far....
