View Full Version : Trolling rivers
Ive been trolling a river in VA and catching a few Muskies on Bass plugs. Which cranks/baits would be good this time of the year or anytime in water depth ranging from 3-20ft, mostly a depth of 10-12' average.

Check out "River Muskies" by Dan Gapen (you can find his site by running a search under his name) for some good river info. I also have a river fishing link on my site. Go to: MuskieKid.com and to the Musky Links page. You will find it. Screamin' Kenny Olesen has the same article on his site.

DR,
Do yourself a favor and go to Muskiekid's website. You could spend days on the links page alone. There is ton's of info to learn. Hey Muskiekid, you ever going to take the time and register here again? :)

DR, I'm from Va. near the New/James Rivers....yourself?:)
S Bob,
So am I! I fish the James on a REGULAR basis and hit the New on occasion as well. I'm near Roanoke, where are you? Send me an email if you wish: drcrwr@yahoo.com or drcrwr@riversmallies.com

Didn't realize I had to. I will do it right now. Thanks for the kind words about my site. Of course, I have to give others the credit for the fine sites that I link to.

Of course you don't have to Kid, but it's sort of like taking your jacket off when you come to someone's house. It means your going to stay a while. :) I also meant what I said about your site. Even if you have to give credit to the individual sites. Whenever I get bored with the three Muskie Boards, I go to your links page and know that I can find something completely different to read about. It's cool to have it all in one spot.
Sweeeeeet! Thanks SBob, I'll be looking for your email, we are REAL close together. Bait leasing? I just may like that!! :7

No actually what I meant was that I didn't realize that I had to re-register. I guess I'm no longer a "pro member!". Maybe just a "piker" :) Take care - Tom
