Jackpot , the birds have been a sparse , you got to get out
early and really watch the road/path sides and if you don't see any,
you got to root'em out of thicket edges . They seem to have been
holding tight and running or flushing 30-40yds. out.
The fish - I don't know - trolled deep/shallow and in between
with a lot of BIG lures 10" believers - straight and jointed .
Jakes and Depth Raiders.Banged rock to shallow over deep water.
Casted mostly Reef-Hogs Suicks and some cranks, shallow and the
first breaks - nothing ?
I got a tip from a local after I took the boat out (Funny)
Cast the whitefish nets and very shallow-almost on shore, off
steep breaking shore/islands.

ps - Tower side - Big bay areas.

Hi Jackpot,
Water temps are falling fast, most areas were in the low 40's today... The winds were blowing to hard to fish out in the open most of the day. Points and rocky shorelines...that fall sharply to deep water are key areas for this time of year.
The whitefish nets aren't out yet, the DNR hasn't opened the season here..It
may open over the weekend but I haven't seen it in the paper yet.
Some of the guys I have talked to this week, are still seeing fish off the reeds and in some of the shallow weeds.
Jerks and crankbaits are my favorites
this time of the season. Jakes, bobbies
and believers as well as depth raiders,
seem to get the most attention.
I like the ghost pattern or whitefish imitators and anything that looks like a cisco.
Good luck, I hope this helps.

It's snowing like crazy up here on the range...temps in the high 30's. :(
What a suprise...the weather guys were wrong again. I have a client for this
afternoon, I hope they bring their snow
gear.
