what alot of people consider to be the best built bucktail on the market is no more,, The guy who makes huntertails has decided it takes up too much of his time to put the quality into these and is going to stop marketing them. You guys better get those credit cards out and scoop them up from the shops that stll have them because thats the last of them. maybe if you guys yell loud enough you can change his mind. I know the company is for sale though and a good investment and reasonable these things were starting to really catch fire.

I really like tossing Hunter Tails. Talked to the manufacturer, Tom Bastian, a few times at the musky expos and really seemed like a good guy.
Too bad to see another good Buck fall off the market.
We lost John Nesse and his Blackburn tails last year, now this?
I'm gonna have to start making my own ...

That is bad news. I have one purple/blue w/ copper blade HunterTail that has accounted for the majority of my fish the last two years. Tom was also really helpful in pointing you towards colors that worked well on given lake. Anybody know if Thorne Bros' has any left?

I also like Hunter Tails. The main reason is because they actually have a lot of hair on them unlike so many other little skinny tails. Have you tried Chris Drury's Voo Doo Tails? They have them at Rollies and they are IMHO as good or better then Hunter Tails.
Here's his website:

Meant to change the subject line not the user name.
