I hate those Frickin' orange Lady Bugs!!!! They are everywhere. The thing that gets my blood boiling, is that they aren't native to the U.S.. Louisiana imported them so they could eat bugs off of their plants. They then started moving North in the 90's. Now I have them in my house and garage all Winter. ARRRRRRGHHHHHH!

I hear ya Jim. Just friggin nuts. I was attacked by them yesterday, I was pulling out the garden when a stiff breeze blew by and just then about a hundred+ of them decided to fly off the house and garden and a bunch landed on me. I was running around the house swiping every were. They bit me a half dozen times. My neighbors must have thought I was nuts wriggling around. I swear terrorists sent them here.
I feel bad for the peaceful red ladybug who is now suffering from “insect profiling” as anything resembling those orange ladybugs is fair game.

We get them by the millions this time of year and somehow they find their way into the house, man what a pest.

I actualy was trolling this afternoon when one landed on the front of the boat and as I was thinking of going there and flicking it into the river when I got a rip from a 30 pounder plus just to lose it later so now I know she did not bring me luck to hook up with a big fish but the bad luck to lose it after a one minute fight. :( I did land 2 fish prior to that wich one was bigger so I did have a good day overall but that darn missed fish is fresher in my memory. I guess I am out again tomorrow to catch one to make me forget it.

Catch a big one this fall
Keep releasing them all

I work in the Ag industry and can tell you that ladybugs (actually ladybird beetles) are a good sign. These insects are beneficial in the world of agricultural pests. They eat aphids which are very injurious to crops. The fact that there are more ladybird beetles around is a direct result of less pesticides being sprayed on crops. By not applying insecticides, these beneficial insects have the ability to overcome moderate insect populations. The biggest and latest reason for their explosion is the infestation of aphids on soybeans. Soybean acreage has sky-rocketed in the last few years and aphids are having a "field-day".Having to deal with is a pretty fair tradeoff for cleaner water, air, etc. I'm not a PETA person or Greenpeace, just involved in best management practices for Ag producers.

P.S. the recent aphid influx on soybeans originated in china on the buckthorne plant. It is considered an ornamental plant here in the U.S. and were imported. AARRGHH enough work, came here to talk fishing lol, let go fishing.
