Does anyone no where to find a service ( like Consumer Reports ) that rates outboard motors?

Ya know, until this week, I've read nothing but good things on WC about Suzuki. I run Yamaha, but I had decided for my next motor to seriously look at Suzuki as well as the Yammi's.

But, there is a thread on the BOAT/MOTORS page right now that talks about some problems with part availability. I still think they're pretty good motors, but if you have a problem, some guys are having trouble getting 'em fixed. I don't know how this all will shake out, but read the thread, and you will have some good questions for your local dealer, if you're motor shopping.

Like the other post stated over all the Suzuki motor is a decent motor but getting parts has been an issue. Even motorcycle Suzuki parts are not easy to get. My #1 choice is Yamaha for many reasons. I am not a dealer for any , only work on em..

If you work on them, does that mean they are always in the shop? (teasing) ;-)

What are some of the reasons "why" you prefer Yammy?
Just wondering...
