magnathin

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with stren magnathin mono. It comes up to 50 lb test and the price is pretty good. I noticed in a video that Joe Bucher uses it and recommends it. Anyone have any good/bad experience with it?

I have used it in the past and love it. My dad went back to it and I am still struggling with superlines. It's a good line. I used 20lb. on my bucktail rods and 40lb. on my jerkbait stuff. Excalibur is a good line too. Both casts great.

Todd, the only thing i'm worried about is that earlier this summer my friend had a nice over 45"er on with 20 lb trilene XL mono and it snapped so easily. Have you ever had a problem with magnathin at all? I was thinking of the 50 lb test.

I have never had a failure with magnathin. It's a totally different line than trilene xl. I have snagged up baits and lost them but never on a fish.
