I used to always spell it "muskie." Then for some reason when I made up my code name MuskyMidget, it looked better to me with a "y" instead of "ie".

Now, I always use "musky." Also, since the PMTT is using "musky" that is my preferred spelling.

I think MN and Wisconsinites tend to use different spellings ???

What about the first official Esox magazine, Musky Hunter? Is there a reason they went with musky, other than because they're based out of Wisconsin? I usually spell it musky, but not always.

According to my kid's dictionary both are correct. "Musky" is singular & "Muskie" is plural.

The correct spelling for the united states is musky. Any other spelling is well just.....canadian.

We allow both spellings in our magazine, because either is correct as they are short for Muskellunge (duh?), which actually has multiple spellings...
