which lures are worth to be soaked and how can you best do this? I know happy hooker already explained very well how to soak a reef hawg but I was wondering if there were any others that can be soaked like wooden crankbaits, suicks, bobbies, even gliders perhaps? What are your idea's on this thread?

Divani,
Any wooden lure can be intentionally waterlogged. BUT, soaking a bait can shorten its life expectancy and weaken its strength. I've found that weighting your baits and keeping them SEALED from taking on water is the best bet (except for reef hawgs).

The glory of water-logging a bait is equal distribution of the weight. I've only done it to three lures intentionally, and no longer do it for the above reasons. The Exciter (now sold by Moore's Lures), suicks, and Reef Hawgs have taken water nicely for me.

Good luck with your added "hang time".

I was at a seminar by Don Pursch and he says he takes the paint off the top of suicks so they can absorb water and you get a foot more depth out of them

I got a good way for soaking 7" suicks! Drill a hole of 1/8" right through from belly to back. After about 15 minutes of fishing it is soaked to the core! I'm dying to try it tomorrow! Only a few hours away until my next trip!! I got this off the musky hunter message board.
