I am making a set of planers and a mast. Any idea for what type of springs and line guide to use on the mast? Thanks

Hey, sounds like a great winter project!
Email me at perchjerker1us@yahoo.com. Maybe we can put our heads together on this and come up with something cool. I have a few ideas myself.

You can buy the Big Jon lineguides/pulleys from many tackle shops or I think even online through Big Jon's website. They are about $20 each. Other choice is at West Marine/BoatUS, venture into the blowboat section and they have all kinds of pulleys/wheels/blocks that you can use. I'd recommend just getting the Big Jon's. Many of the sailboat stuff has a gap between the wheel and the outside base that will allow the towline to slip into and get jammed up. You can get small stainless shackles from the blowboat section to attach the Big Jon pulleys to an eye bolt running through your mast.

We bought our supplies from Boat US. We didn't want to give Big John the big $. We don't have $20 in pulleys etc.
